I had a good game with RPG a while ago on whatever that map is at the start of the rotation.... canyon valley? The donut one. Anyway we both joined NF around the same time. BE had pushed NF almost all the way back into their base. They had arties and heavies before we had any research. First we mostly just dicked around in LTs killing some people and doing donuts. Eventually we were doing so well with our paper lights and Kaz joined he went comm and we got a radar and made a comeback. Abs/coolant LTs ftw. It got close for a while though when we had nothing they were building level 3s on us and pounding us with arty that we couldn't rush. Luckily it was on R&D so the splash isn't too huge and we were able to snipe them with canons and dodge the arty shells. Recruit's pie joined us as well or maybe he was already there not sure.

 

i remember that game, you had like a 38-2 score.
Me on the otherhand, was discussing with Eth0 on vent, I wasnt paying attention to that game at all, just driving my light tank around, shooting heavies, I had absolutely no idea what was going on

 

Yea one of the funniest bits of team work I rember was when I was an engie on district and another engie and a rifleman. Me and the other engi had the health repair upgrade and the rifleman had the diggin, and health upgrade. He crotched and poked around the corner whooting while me and the other engie kept healing him while people where shooting him. People on NF where swearing up and down he had to be hacking:D

 

the most incredible recent moment, has been on District, one of my new favorite maps. I had just picked off the first rushers to to the center, and push up past it. but then the second wave of enemies arrived. a shot one down, but just as i went onto open ground, a grenade came flying at me, taking me down to the tiniest bit of health. using the F menu, i accidently hit COVERING FIRE instead of medic. the grenade came from one of a pair of riflemen who ran out of the ally way, shooting up everything.

dodging bullets, i sprinted to the wall to get a meager bit of cover, but the riflemen were slowly gaining on my position. pushed into the wall as best i could, i preyed that none of the hundreds of tracers crossing my screen each second would find me... and then, the true meaning of 'covering fire' was unveiled. 2 HMGers on my team suddenly emerged, and blanketed the entire enemy line with bullets. i finally sprinted back to the flag.

yeah, this all happened in about 30 seconds, but it was bloody brilliant.

 

on district, we were pushing the bren back to there base, but due to turret farming and nade spamming couldnt get any further.
i was a rifleman weith the second gun (the heavy rifle)
but... it only had 4 bullets left.
i was so flucky...me and 2 other guys ran round into the alley, they snuck round the first corner and got gunned down , while i was cowardly and waited round the corner...

when i finally decided to run round the corner i ran right into a bren guy. as in face first! he just ignored me and kept moving...unusual, as if i was on his team!

i walked on ward down the long alleyway, ( at this point having only pistol ammo left after shooting the guy who ignored me in the back )

and snuck round the corner, took pot shots with my pistol and kiled 5 guys who were building turrets (or repairing them)

ran out of ammo again...no bullets at all .uh oh.

still none noticed me, they were all facing the other way, keeping there front line held ( because in theory noone could have got past it... )

i finnaly remebered nades, and lobbed the 2 i had on me off.
killed another 2 guys, but.... got noticed, and therfore pwned by a rifleman

 

I remember once being in a similar situation. I was a scout in the last brenodi building and they couldn't recap it. So they got their whole team practicly in there looking for me, while a couple others were losing badly then I went round the house, sneak shooting people with the scout rifle, untill 3 were left.

I then threw a concussion grenade into the middle of them and escaped. Was funny on the way down, until I died from the fall. I cried then.

 

My first win as comm (from the start) in Empires, under the name EMP_Recuit.
The BE team was so pissed, thought they lost to a total newb :p

 

this one time, at bandcamp, i shot some one with a tank..

 

Sorry to bump this thread, but I just wanted to recall "The good old days."

This first one, I made a thread about it. "Slaughtered is Salvation, and Hellion is my new God." We were playing, of course, Slaughtered. I was NF, a smattering of players were BE, and the game proceeded as normal. Of course, we started winning, right? NF hedged BE into that one res node at D4. They were holed up deeper then an Alabama Tick, putting walls up every ten feet in the narrow canyon that is the entrance to the Res Node. We couldn't get the arties to target their main base, and I decided... what the hell. I switched to scout, got a three phase jeep, and man--game on. It took several jeeps (but our res was flowing like a tidal wave of molasses) and I eventually rode my jeep UP THE WALL of the canyon at D3, all the way from the north edge to the south edge, surpassed the ENTIRE FORTIFICATION structure they created, and then spent the next five minutes riding around at full speed inside their base, generally being a pain in the ass.

There was this other time, I was playing against a member of BSID in duststorm. I rushed center with as NF scout and proceeded to scout-rifle noob pwn about 10 guys before I finally retreated. Well, I got some more ammo, headed back to center, and killed the BSID guy. (I don't remember who it was.) He had me almost down to no health, so I retreated and healed. Went center, guess who I found? BSID guy. Killed him AGAIN, had to heal, headed back. Went SOUTH of center this time, sniped BSID guy from afar, and THIS TIME decided to just kind of hang out south of the BE base. Someone starts closing in on my position. I fall back through ruins. Then all the way back to base, heading north. Someone is still following me. I go up to our north west base, someone is still following me. Finally, a shootout: i snipe the guy: it was BSID guy, AGAIN, and he spent the past FIVE MINUTES stalking me for a revenge killing. We had a good laugh about it.

Other memorable moments: Whenever we won a match with CPatton doing his crazy ass shit against noobs. The first time I played against Don Megel, and I said "God Damnit," and he chastised me for 30 seconds about swearing. I thought I was gonna get banned then and there. Eep!

 

guiding a rocketlauncher into an AFV that was half the map away across isle is one of the most satisfying kills i've ever had.

 

Fighting on district with NF. I was a engie with rev (and loads of other stuff but that doesn't matter) and we had about 89 people per team. Brenodi Empire had been winning against s pretty much although way through but then we hit 50 tickets. Amazingly we managed to take the upper hand despite being pushed back to base. THings were giong so well when Shock! Horror! Somebody had built a turret in the exit to our spwan and try as we might we could just not get out. Despite the terrible piece of childish noobishness we actually managed to win the games.

Another favourite game (or part) was also on 402 as NF. The BE had taken mid but I saw that if we worked as a team we could win. I was annoying everybody by calling them to the alley next to the side. My surprise when they acutally came knew no bounds. First we took out their covering turrets with grenades then we threw smoke grenades at them and then, we chatrged the diorientrated and confused BE and maged to cpature middle form them. I just felt soooo happy!

 

This is more of a general 'wow' moment

emp_escort, NF ran out of tickets, BE very low on tickets, BE was fighting for sewer. BE pushed to the NF base, and the NF, out of tickets, killed all us BE for the next 15 minutes or so, securing a ticket win.

Basically, the BE got their asses kicked by about 5 NF, who had no more respawns.

 

Quite some time ago. Was playing BE on canyon.
We were loosing badly and NF attacked with a constant flow of Heavys and Arty.
I was an engineer and we had very few Res. I tried to keep the buildings up, leaving defending to others for the most part.

During another NF attack I approached a BE Artillery tank (the only friendly tank).
It appeared idle, standing on the far left of the frontline, near the cliff.
I repaired it, but it still did neither move or shoot.
I realized it had noone inside, must have been standing there for minutes. :confused:

I jumped into it and single handedly beat back the NFs outnumbering attack.
I repaired it again, changed class to Grenadier and beat back the second attack (of about 5 tanks).
Repaired it again on the Repair Pad and defeated most of the third wave, too.
All of them apart from one dual cannon Arty.
It hit me perfectly while retreating back onto the repair pad.

The Com bitched at me for loosing the Arty, we lost the game less than 2 minutes afterwards.

I, however, am not impressed by my ability, but the lack thereof in certain others.

 

Don Music, perfect example why arty is overpowered ATM.

 

the funniest thing i've ever seen in a game, just today.


well, i was bored with CS having discovered that it doesn't really matter where your crosshair goes, you're still going to die. so i joined a district map, on a 1 v 1. being nice, i joined the emp recruit that had been on the server for five or six minutes. he had 0 score. and was in our spawn. that's fine.

but then i realised why. the NF guy we were against had placed a camra on the stairs leading out of this building, and the recruit, all he did, was repeatedly walk into it, walk backwards, walk into it. yes, he was totally stumped. first time I've ever actually fallen off my chair from laughing.

 

Oh.

My.

God.

 

The time I was on NF, NF was loosing...so I went with a jeep as a gren with the ammo upgrade (this is on crossroads, if I remember right.) I decided I'd ninja...so I got past all the MLs, and surprising found no MLs or MGs guarding the CV....
Started to run up to the CV, hit it with a missile...the comm suddenly started driving...parked on me....and stopped....got out, looked for me. Apparently he couldn't find me, gave up, got back into the CV, went back to...comming I guess.

I started dropping mines like crazy...finally flipped/blew the CV.
