'Your best empires moments' thread

Paragraph for each one, please. not looking for "this one time i blew up the CV with mines" or an amazing score you got, but a story of bravery, skill, teamwork and legend...


I've got my own, but I'll have to find where i wrote it up first.

 

On canyon as BE. our first base was overrun so we set up in the bottom left corner on top of the hill. Built two sets of walls on the edge of the cliff. The inner wall the engineers built fully but the outer wall was mostly left alone.

Almost the entire team was sitting behind the outer wall, fending off wave after wave of NF tank and artillery while the engineers were running along the line reviving anyone who needed it.

We widdled each other down to last ticket but we lost due to artillery

Fun game though

 

Emp_escort as BE rifleman with BE AR and ammo upgrade. Most of my team was busy camping and getting easy kills from the second capturable flag(one of them even had a nuke tank, if I recall correctly). I shouted and shouted for my teammates to attack. When no one did, I entered the tunnel on the left side and jumped over couple of mines laid there. I pushed forward and a couple of NF engineers came with a rifleman at me, I did my thing and killed 'em all. A couple of steps further and I encountered another wave of NF a bit surprised that anyone used the tunnel. :D I dispatched them and then became face to face with MOOtant, I killed him too and then he said something like: "Great, kill my whole team while your at it!" And I did... Then I ran out of ammunition and quickly after that health... Probably the best killing spree I've ever gotten in Empires. I was only meters away from the flag. Damn I would've laughed, if I could've capped that after killing all those guys. :D

 

I was spotting targets (tanks buildings) as a scout and the guy in the arty fired on them. It was magical.

 

Once, right before the update which prevents people from flipping other vehicles with jeeps, i ran into an nf light tank (by accident), and it flipped over onto its side, drives further a bit and falls back to continue driving normally.

 

In duststorm I was at the top of the map near the NF base, holding the line in a light tank being overrun by all kinds of tanks and infantry. During the final wave there were 2 Heavy NF tanks 1 and light rushing. My armor was flashing red, and I was about to blow up but then just in that moment 2 BE Heavies rolled up behind me and blasted the oposition to bits...

Was a magical moment since I was trully greatfull for them saving my life :D

 

I had a ranged arty as a grenadier and a scout was painting targets. It was magical.

or when i first saw that you could drop structures that worked and that customizing stuff on tanks actualy worked ingame in the beta, that was pretty damn awsome to

 

Canyon- As BE we were pushing pretty hard against a team that matched us in skill. The lines of battle were drawn: we had quickly captured the south, and the NF had taken the north. Minor raids by either side played into nothing until the first concentrated battle between the dreaded NF lights and imperial AFVs. After a short fight we retreated from the west pass, falling back into our southwest outpost and south base. We threw a coordinated counterattack (composed of a mix of APCs and mediums) through the east pass but it fell apart against their excellent defense of the northeast. When our assault faltered the NF renewed their attacks from the west, bringing heavy tanks into the fray, and eventually overcoming our southern defences. Even then, they were slowed by our excellent tankers who destroyed wave after wave of armor. But there was only so much they could do. Blocked into a corner and pounded by artillery it was apparent that our resources would not last. So we launched what would be our last counter-attack. In one fell swoop three of our med tanks destroyed all but one of the NF's artillery before they too went the way of their targets. From there it was an easy mop up for the NF. We lost, but I've never commanded a better game. Everyone in that division deserves a medal for teamwork.

Also, those games on emp_chasm in the first beta were pretty hilarious :p

 

Ah yeah, reminds me of exactly a map like that.

After some very heavy and efficient fighting, me and the NF team had pushed on the left with just an APC, and crushed the BE base. however, even as we destroyed their first base, they set up on the hill overlooking us, and pounded use with rockets and their scouts, pushing us back. Lev 3 turrets all along the ridge essentially made them invincible, and a sort of "no - mans land" of walls and destroyed vehicles set up. even though we had arty, there was no way we could even get it into efficient range without being pummeled with grenedier rockets, and several surge attacks on them failed, as we were spotted amongst the trees or by the cliff.

just as they were breaking out, a small squad of ours managed to hussle an arty behind the massive rock facing their base, by the ref, meaning that they couldn't shoot it. it was then up to me and a scout to command the arty, not giving it co-ordinates but just telling it how close it's attacks were to their turrets. once the defence was down, we charged them, destroying the base that was now under hellish artilliary fire, and destroying the barracks.

this game is from one of the older versions (when resources were adequate) and before I was in BSID

Anyways, It was just me, goose, and this other guy on BE, surrounded in the lower right corner of Canyon. we had 0 tickets, and low resources. The team team had about 12 players and 15 tickets left, with plenty of resources. Anyways, we kept getting pummled by their artillery and heavy tanks. about 4 arties and 3-4 meds. We had...1 medium tank (mine) and goose's AFV. I would go in, and quickly take out an arty or 2, and come back for repairs. Goose would usually finish em off, or draw their fire.

Eventually, we were starting to lose even more ground, 2 mediums rushing in on us. I was low on armor, and my hull was being eating away by there cannons. I got down to about 25% hull when of out nowere, goose rushes in and (if by accident) blocks the 1 shot that would of killed my tank off. I rush back to base...only to here the explosion of Goose's AFV...a sad day...but he did not die in vain. after being repaired, I headed back out and dispatched of their badly beaten up tanks. They tried to bail but I ran one over (there was a time when you could do this) and blasted the other one to bits with my HE cannons.

Now, it was 0 tickets for both teams and NF only had their commander...

This time...it would be hell.

I hid in my base, waiting for his attack, wondering where the last guy on our team was (AFK?)

Then...it came from beihing the mountain pass. A heavy tank, loaded with a plasma MG. I would try to sneak out and attack, but this bastard would heat me up every time I popped out. 1 by 1, my buildings crumbled to the ground, losing precious objects to hide behind. Then I made the decision...gun it.

Like a bat out of hell, I rushed the tank, guns blazing. I pulled up next to him, unloading my HE cannon into his braod side. He wasn't pleased.

His cannon started to shred every vital peice of armor I had. I backed up, hoping to avoid his shelling...but unlucky for me...I fell into a crater. The heavy tank started firing his plasma gun, hoping to draw me out...I fired my last shots into his tank...but lucky for me, he bailed. little did he know I had only about 50% hull left and no armor on 2 sides.

I jimped out of my tank, hoping to kick his ass...but he got me first, knocking me to 25% health...

Then like a gaurdian angel. the AFK player came out of nowhere and killed my would-be attacker...then he stepped on a land mine...yep...pretty uneventful.

best game ever.

 

My best Empires moment is probably when I made then finally resealed my first map.
My worst Empires moment is learning almost nobody cares about new maps unless they are official.

 

you're maps will be official when they are good enough. and if that one is good enough, it will become official.

 

oh man... just played it... so we had 2 teams with noobs and of course.. they grab the cv... drive it into a canal... and health is draining... so we set up turrets all around the cv, keep atleast 3 engies healing the cv, and tried to sabatoge the other... unfortunately... they did the same thing, but had snipers pickin off our engies... we lost.. but many laughs were had by everyone...

I would have to say my worst moment was on slaughtered when an emp_recruit took our cv (we were winning and had all our guys dealing the final blow, and drove it into the lake, damaging it so it was almost dead, then just about brought it out. Then when I raced back to repair it in my med tank (we were BE) he jumped out of the cv, got into my tank (which had just got it's 40th kill so I was kinda sentimental about it) he ran into the enemy base, after knocking all our artys off, then got destroyed. He then took the CV again and ran into the enemy base just as we destroyed their barracks.

 

Hahahahaha LMAO. boy o boy, i like the sound of that guy. in a like - hate sorta way. seriously... it takes a special type of Emp_recruit to do that.

I especially like way that after drawing you back, you start to repair the CV, just to get this view of your favorite tank being joyrided around the map...

 

emp_badlands, my whole team(BE) crouching behind low walls, no tickets left, engys reviving anyone who died, I was a gren, we beat back wave after wave of tanks(mainly arty and heavys), always using cover, we had no VF, or the res to build, they had all the nodes, even the one outside our base.

The closest thing to trench warafare in empires, untill someone makes emp_trenches.

This thread seems better to revive than all the suggestion threads that have been shot down so I'm doing it, and there's (almost) nothing you can do about it.


The teams were like this the entire game. :D (except for about 30 seconds when momo crashed)

At first I built a radar and went and captured three refs. Then I decided to attack, so I built a super light. I saw an afv on the other side of the unbuilt bridge, so I came around and killed it. I saw the CV and a rax by the second res node, surrounded by turrets. So I decided to go to their main base, and proceeded to kill the rax and vf there.

I then came around to the res node and noticed that momo crashed, so I got out and jumped on top of the rax and killed it. Unfortunately, I had passed a level 3 mg turret that was unbuilt, and the other guy had run to build it, so it killed me before I killed him.

By the time I got back around momo had reconnected and respawned in an apc. The apc was wide open to attack, so I destroyed it, and then started attacking the CV. But then the apc's wreck disappeared, revealing 3 level 3 ML turrets, which made short work of me.

I respawned and built yet another light tank, and became a grenadier. I decided I would defeat them Bob-style. So I rushed back around, drove my tank straight in, killed one guy building a wall and then rushed the CV.

playing lan with my friend at a lan party, and constaly destorying all the new barracks he made on Money with my mowtar. its exponentially funnier when your playing next to the person. we just built a base on one of the bridges with hella turrets, then i sat there launching mowtars at his barracks, just outta range of his turrets.

right when he would build a new one, i would take it out. great fun
