So cant play some games bevor 2014, meh. Is matchmaking still fucked? Can only play against bots cause my wooden replacement pc can only handle dota2 on lowest settings and crashes/lags in normal games. :/ Ember spirit is freaking fun.
They just added ranked, its pretty legit so far...unranked is just the same as queing used to be while ranked gives you pretty solid games everytime
My experience of SOLO ranked so far: All Pick is just as retarded as regular all pick. Captains Draft is full of captain insta-pickers who pick lineups with 0 fucking synergy EVERY TIME out of the available heroes. Captains Mode is full of captain insta-pickers who pick not so thought out lineups with 0 fucking communication EVERY TIME. My calibration games were fucking awesome, but now I actually have a rating, game quality has bombed. Games are usually lost by 1 player's mistakes and unfortunately I'm now at 3.7k rating which just happens to be "mid doesn't gank" bracket. Makes it so so un worthwhile. Probably the only SOLO game I actually won since gaining a rating: http://dotabuff.com/matches/433638801 I captained this one and drafted a quite obvious push lineup out the limited pool, and while we didn't win as early as we liked (40 min throne), our execution meant we just outplayed them (their teamfight was fucking scary).
The calibration matches take your personal performance into account so if you did well than your hidden ranking will go up even if your team lost. The other thing is that people in calibratrion matches are on different skill level because if you would only fight people of your own mmr than it could only place you on that mmr level. Valve stated that in ranked matches after the calibration phase almost only the outcome of the match counts cause their are to many variables like a CM with 15 death could still played very well etc. So yes the one guy that feeds 24/7 will fuck your mmr and you cant do anything about it. Edit: I dont have done my calibration matches cause of the shitty pc I have right now but what I heard about skill level and mmr is really sad. Around 3500 seems to be average (most likely because more skilled people play ranked) 4000 is high and 5000 is top 0,1%. What makes it so sad is the fact that players I talked with told me that you can find autoattackers/farmstealing supports etc up to 4000 mmr which is crazy.

I only play captains mode and only I draft, you need to talk to your teammates make them feel enthousiastic about your draft and gg. Won 80 percent of the ranked games so far. I Think. You wont find autoattackers and farmstealing support. You will find douchebags and bad players up to 5k though. I was playing ranked and got this 4.5k support player. GEEEEZZZZ he was bad. Like no stack or no pull through pulling shit like that. Wrong warding... etc etc
I waited 5 minutes to join a game. Then when I joined someone on my team had chinese characters in their name so one of my allies disconnected. Why doesn't gaben just force them to play on their own servers.
See your frist mistake was playing dota. Why don't you play with me, I got people who speak and understand english along with spanish. You will do just fine with my people granted if your willing to put in the time to learn.

I hate latinos with a passion, nothing worse than latinos. I get Russians and Brazilians on CS:GO all the time and the russians are much better teammates because they speak english.
