Maybe niar can clear this up for me: I was playing EMP tonight...I'm in a NF Heavy with the armor maxed out on all sides, absorbent, with HE, and 2 MLs. I'm against a BE Med, and I'm hitting it in the same fucking spot, over and over. He won't die. He chews through my armor in 3-4 shots, he's hitting my hull. What. The. Fuck. Gives? Did I mention I got around 5-7 good DIRECT hits on the side of his tank, another 4-5 landed in close proximity to him. And some missiles too. Wtf?
Some combinations of gun vs. armor are very one sided. Plasma and Railgun for example are extremely weak against (if I remember correctly) Absorbant. Bio Weapons are extremely efficient against Regenerative Armor. With Reflective the impact angle is extremely important. etc. Other than that, there still is the Absorbant bug.
Yeah the absorbant and reactive bugs have given me an unfair edge sometimes in the past :p I prefer reflective tho
If you mean where you can get an ungodly amount of armor...then I don't think that's the explanation... Maybe something to do with the tweaks on the ONE server?
He probably had armor that didn't suck and HE/UML. HE UML will tear through your armor easily that fast. I guess it could have been abused absorbant but that doesn't seem to odd if you ask me. I'm sure he was well damaged but reflective could have taken that much if you were hitting at angles.
I would say it was reflective; or an absorbant... He might have rotated through his plates so you essentialy were hitting something 100 plates thick; while he focues all his shots on one plate and took it down fast, hittint through your weakest armor... He could have had reflective; so even if you actualy hit him, if it wasnt at 90 degrees the damage would fall of rapidly... In short: Don't underestimate a BE med; unless you have MG's (Bio/DU/Plasma) to back you up in an NF heavy; the BE med is fairly evenly matched, as it could out manuver the heavy and even though you did more damage to it; all of the damage was spread over sevral "Armor Arcs" where as he was able to focus all his fire power in one, taking it down and quickly taking out your hull...
No way it was absorbant. HE barely heals it on misses if at all and chews through it in like 1-2 plates a hit and MLs do good damage as well.
You should've been a good sport, congratulated him on a nice kill and (politely) asked him what armor/weapon combination he was using. He would've probably told you. Abusing the infinite armor bug still wouldn't help him rip through your armor, so he must've gotten lucky in his weapon choices against your particular armor.
OK, I guess I wasn't clear on what I meant in this post. Niar and I are in the same clan. We were both on TS at the time. He was using absorbent, I was using absorbent. I continually hit his right side, he hit my right and back. We both had the same gun loadout, I just had 2x as many layers of armor.

which is better? hard to call... anyway, a wtf happened to me last night. I was in a standard LT, paper armour, but i got killed in ONE shot, by a mortar.
Well...its hard to get a CV in the air, so we used a jeep as a wedge....and it get left in there. Its even funnier when a jeep is under the CV in such a way that it can pull the CV around (and the CV can't drive itself...)
I know that the LT, NF Heavy, BE Med and Heavy, and the BE APC/AFV have it. I'm not sure about the NF Med or APC, but I would guess they do. And I don't know if it's a bug or not.
Would be very usefull to know on maps where you can get above a tank... Maybe then the rocket launcher would be more than an anoyance...:D
