Where's the "this game isn't worth improving" option? I feel like our devs' opinions aren't being properly represented.
After three years playing this game, I have finally lost hope. A little bit of me has died. My clan is actually falling to pieces. I got a little bit of work but actually spend more time playing games now - although they're mostly offline. It's possible i'm now too old to indulge with things like this, but I doubt it...it's more about the fact that Empires is the best game i've ever found for generating hate and rage - and I used to play css, lol. I booted up steam for the first time in 4 days and downloaded the svn (from 260-281 - it's not out of date really) because a testing message popped up. There were 6 people on the server, and by the time i'd updated they'd all pretty much left. Not that that's the fault of the test... just saying that's why i'm posting here. Pretty much the way I feel now is... Empires is...past it's prime now. I hope i'm wrong and we'll still get steamworks and the sun will shine again an' all, but my clan has pretty much deteriorated... and I really have a horrible feeling whenever I think about playing this game. It's not the game, it is and has always been the people. And while we have great people in this game... 90% of the community is horrible, some of those are horrible and brilliant too. I think it's pretty much a classic case of...development petering out and the community working against the mod. Sad really, I loved this game. Hell, even wrote some story for it.
DL'ing the svn currently since no one else bothers testing. At least I get to try e-build once before everything breaks down.
Yeah maybe I should update the svn and help with testing. I'll try to see if anyone else from 420 would like to do it.
You guys should have some tests when I'm not working or not busy -_-'' I work on weekends and have stuff to do on weekends. How about testing on a tuesday or something? *edit* you also need to fix the armor bugs before you can ask us to test this shit. If you can still pwn armor with MG's, something is fucked up. Fix the damned game breaking glitches before you ask for a full server test. If 20 people get on and everyone can kill the CV with an SMG, but you still ask us to play as if the bug doesn't exist, it ain't gonna happen.
The devs need to be likeable, and tell us what they're trying to achieve rather than "We changed this, so we need to see how it affects gameplay... oh and now we changed this, maybe this will fix things", etc.
An updated and hopefully continually updated changelog has just been created. This should be a place to get the knowledge of what has changed in between releases. http://forums.empiresmod.com/showthread.php?t=12053
