If it got to that point, I'd imagine they'd offer krenzo a job as the lead developer of empires and hire him a staff to work on the game. that way they can pay him a salary instead of the actual earnings of the game >_>
Zombie Master is not really a RTS/FPS. The inability to place buildings/units where you like kind of makes it more of a RTS-lite/FPS genre.
Command And Conquer Renegade The first RTS/FPS hybrid, and I'm pretty sure the one that Empires takes after the most. Aside from building placement. Then there's also Savage...
Empires is the first GOOD FPS/RTS. It combines Research, Vehicle and Building Construction, FPS, Tactics, Sqauds, Leaderschip and Counter-Systems.
Yes, but still if we compare Graphics, Gameplay, Sound, Interface, Complexity then Empire is stil at the top.
Only because it was made years afterwards, and could learn from their mistakes, complete more advanced tasks and handle superior graphics. Battlezone has way better deathmatch.
...I actually like Zombie Master. Granted, it's a very very different game from Empires, and I don't know how much of an RTS/FPS sort of game I'd call it... when I'm playing as a ZM, I don't even really think of it as a "competitive" game, more like just screwing around with the players. It's more fun for all the insane stuff that happens in it (when playing in a good level) than anything else.
Battlezone was the first computer game I ever played. It was epic. The most epic game I have ever played, even to today. And come to think of it, there are a lot of similarities to Empires.
Natural Selection and Battlezone are good too, but if I compare it with Empires... Personally I dont even think you can compare Natural Selection with Empires. Every game is unique, every game has a unique gameplay. Total War and Empire Earth series are both RTS games, but you seriously cannot compare Medieval II: Total War with Empire Earth II.
