Imagine the defensive potential. Until they blew each other up from gunfire... If they couldn't actually shoot each other, IMAGINE THE DEFENSIVE POTENTIAL.

nothing. Even if turned on, well except the frame drop OR unless your the enemy, 1ms death? Here is a thought... how much of a strain on the server would that place to have to calculate that many turrets targeting, aiming, shooting, and dmg calculations?
The server would probably have a meltdown, and possibly explode at 10x the power of the Hiroshima bomb. Or crash whatever comes first.
I don't think it would cause a crash. I've made a gun in gmod that shoots 10000 bullets per frame and it just lags a fuckton.
ok but it just shoots alot of bullets which are hitscan and mostly client side, unless you were shooting at a target that could take dmg. We are talking about at least a thousand turrets that individually need to run target code, aim code, shoot code,and damage calculation code. Its not a trivial matter for the server cpu to do.
Aiming and turning is pretty simplistic, the attacks don't even need to be hitscan since it never misses, migh tas well skip that whole hitscan and just go for autodamage and an effect.
I hope everyone appreciates the fact that lua is being implemented, instead of just focusing on a bunch of turrets.
