I like the design there dizzy but Brenodi Legends? really?

 

the eternal silence design is bad, it has like a gazillion buttons in the side

i kinda like what dizzy did, but then with the satiric texts

Eternal Silence (with fewer buttons) and the dizzy mock-ups are my favorite.

The RenegadeX site is also solid, but I don't know how many resources we want to divert to get to that level.

the biggest chance we have on recruiting fresh meat that sticks around is by having them feel part of the community

forums generally tend to make that happen

 

Well i can talk to Killa from RenX (he's the guy that designed that site), the site uses joomla for anyone that knows anything about it, will just need a few images for him to base the design upon.

The only problem with this route is the time period, he's a busy man, just getting ahold of him might take some time and getting him to get shit done is also another problem, but i'll stay on his ass.

Anyone here good at joomla? if not i won't even bother.

 

A drupal theme would be better since we already have one setup.

 

And Drupal is pretty easy to theme for, mainly CSS + JS (Zen template has pretty much everything div'd)

 

Yes, but let's not forget the download page which is probably what most people look for. I think the new site needs to show at a glance:

1. A description that this is a webpage for a HL2/source mod for your random visitors. They make up like 70% of your hits.
2. A big red button linking to the downloads. That is why people come to the webpage.
3. Another big red button linking to the forum.
4. Another big green button linking to the manual to satisfy this weird minority actually reading manuals.
