Weapon balancing: How are we going to do it?

    Both side rifles need nerfed in some way. It's all very run and gun at the moment. Not so much on the comm maps but at the risk of being a pain in the arse, I prefered the old weapons more with the only exceptions being the scout rifles, NF Heavy rifle and BE AR

    I mean this was full auto from the grey flag, aiming at one point:

    I say damage and aim, no one likes a gun that fires retardedly fast, or once a year. but damage and aim can be adjusted without too much notacable/ annoying affects.

    Revert to all original 1.07 settings except for heavy machine gun, smg2 and uhh anything else anyone can think of.(scout)

    NF Heavy rifle was crap in 1.07 and the BEAR was the ray gun back then :P (If it were given the recoil of the 1.07 NF rifle, it'd have been fine imo)

    the NF Rifle is crazy accurate without iron sights, I was able to lay waste on escort to entire teams of rifleman and engineers without ever using iron sights

    Suggestion: For all non-Iron sighted weapons, make a huge kick back after 3 shots, so if you try to spray like that, that will get you nowhere...

    in iron sight mode make it like it is now...

    SMG's: Higher kickback, to incourage more burst shots (More accurate at the begining, but falls off to worse accuracy then it is now)

    One word: Higher kickback... (Except in iron sights mode, where it should be lowest)

    we need crazy inaccuracy without iron sights: remember, without iron sights it's you firing from the waste, which is crap.

    Well, seeing how I was very late finding this part of the forums... heres my two cents...

    I feel the weapons in the game, feel the same when you shoot em.
    Well, two main groups do... The ARs and the SMGs.

    Using Autofire on Ironsight, does defeat a purpose of having that feature.
    Their rifles, I mean, I'd suspect them to be like.. Semi/Burst...
    I probably wouldn't know the true specs of an BE Rifle, or NF Rifle.. But my 2-cents that, they dont really feel true to me if their auto.

    HMGs need to feel more useful too. Cause I sometimes like to just spray down... Maybe those need some balancing... (Tho I must admit, I never got to try them in 1.08 cause of Steam/Internet issues, hindering games to 10-15 mins..)
    Such as more damage, 5-15% bigger clip, but some hindering too, such as deployment, cool down?

    Guns in the game, really need strengths and weaknesses, cause to be honest, it would give that sense of realism to Empires, but im not in any position to say whats real in Empires.

    NFAR was better than BEAR in 1.071 on district. BEAR did have an advantage on open maps at long distance but maybe iron sights fixed. NF 2nd rifle needs to be nerfed a bit I think if we go back to 1.071 settings.

    I think we need to do try something different then reverting back to something. At least we can try different weapon formula's before doing something drastic. Cause I kinda wanna try something new...

    I think that weapon balancing at the moment should be limited to reducing a bit of damage of smg and rifles. After big release it will be easier to judge what to do next.

    Someone could say that BE AR ironsight is so big by design but why the fuck NF AR is so small in comparison to BE?

    If I would suggest anything to fix the BEAR and the NFAR would be to give the BEAR a red dot style sight.

    Ya, it would be a good idea for a big release. But I dont think it would hurt testing out new weapon designs/balancing/formula's to see what would work in some beta patches for 1.08, could make integration for 1.09 a bit more smoothly.

    Everyone should stop bitching about the BE AR. sure, it takes getting used to, but like the mortar and guiding the rocket laucher, once you've had a bit of practice it becomes second nature and REALLY COOL :D

    I saw this thread and said ohh ok let me add my two cents... Then I saw... 10 pages! "lets just skip to the end"

    if it wasn't said before... here it is now. Change the pistol so its not the uber sniping weapon that it is! I can't tell you how many players I killed from such a great distance by merely pointing and killing them in 5 or so shots and they never knew where it was coming from. It seems that the firing cone on the pistol is way too small, if it even has one.

    Change the rate of fire by all guns by 1/2. Make all accuracy 1/2 without ironsights , with ironsights, make them as accurate as they are now.

    Or make the ironsight boost a bit less and make them faster to equip?

    nerfed means decreased in power. So if you want X nerfed, it means you think it's too powerful
