after reading all these walls and gates concepts.. i realized something maybe its time for .. well a period of basic ceasefire? maybe try it on one map... let the teams prepare for war? basically let the sides build some sort of half assed base... armories , turrets whatever with walls..that aren't so and enough resources nodes to allow it... *that reminds me of my other topic* maybe some kind of... wall that breaks letting the combat phase start or maybe a simple force field? try it on one map... make sure the map has enough resources... *that reminds of my other topic* guess at what the other team will do .. make the noob proud he was a scout and saw the other team building a rax outside your walls... instead of yelling at him.... ove:
I Actually really like his idea. Its not bad at all. Dont make it 20 minutes ofcourse but 2-5 min prep time wouldnt be so bad at all.
Yeah, a specific map where teams can make more elaborate base designs sounds really neat. Though I can think of a couple of the stock maps that would benefit from it too.
Doesnt sound bad to try. Might also eliminate/reduce the usual early game advantage on some of those maps. And maybe just try it as a separate map? So that we have normal canyon and the canyon with this build time? (no need to lose the current gameplay)
What about the other...er..canyon map? The one with capturable flags and turrets everywhere. And big thick base base walls. I seem to remember that being fair ground for building. Not that you had a CV or anything, though.
