It's going to be in the next one, if nothing gets screwed up.

If people start getting lvl3's up, you're playing this map all wrong.....

I vote no simply because the engineer is already kind of nerfed without walls, if you take away his turrets, he has little offensive ability. YES, his role as reviver is super important, but I feel that the map should be changed to make turrets less effective (such as opening up rooftops), as opposed to reducing one class' ability.

If you do take away the turrets, you'll have to compensate somehow. Walls clearly are out, too much room for abuse-- (imagine a team of engineers setting up a dozen walls next to each other, effectively sealing off the level.)

Honestly, I think opening up the rooftops would be sufficient to eliminate the turret ability to hold off an entire corridor.

I'd like to see what people would do if walls were added in, i guess mass spammage and racing to cap all flags, 3 layers of walls being constantly repaired and loads of turrets, with scouts sniping, grenadiers spamming, and riflemen covering sewers.

I don't think it would be better; alleys and such would be blocked off and the map is so small that there would be DOZENS of walls bocking everything. everyone would then have to go engineer to get rid of them and it would become a huge game of build and unbuild.

Maybe i should test it, it's not hard to enable walls.

Walls spammed in one place is no biggie in 1.07, just nade spam the walls. Though it takes longer to take down a single wall, the AOE makes it much more effective against a crapload of walls. This is how I deal with wall spammage on money.

what?! it takes 10000 times less time to just deconstruct them...

Imagine 50 walls in a small area... now try deconstructing those, even with the ammo exploit in 1.07, still takes forever. Throw maybe 5 or 6 nades at those unbuilt walls, and they start dissapearing like crazy. If you still dont understand, lets look at an RPG analogy. Lets say you had 2 attacks, one that did 20 damage to a single foe, and another that did 2 damage to every foe. the 20 damage attack is superior, unless there are more than 10 enemies. you deal more total damage with the 2 damage attack when there is a large group of foes. Same thing goes for walls. A single wall is far easier to take down with engineer tool. Put 500 wall pieces in the way, and nadespam is the way to go.

If the rooftops were opened up, this wouldn't even be an issue... walls all over the main road... and the infantry just goes right over the top of em.

Well, i suppose you'd put a brush on the roofs to keep ppl from building walls... cause really, how is someone just gonna make a wall pop out of a ceiling?!

There is an entity that can prevent wall building, but it only prevents building if you're in the brush, it doesn't prevents building in the brush itself when you're not in it.

Putting a no-build brush underneath ladders so it would be impossible to plant things on the roof without being on it?

    You can't build vertically anymore.
