As some of you who use IRC may know Dizzyone and myself have been discussing a multiplayer Transport Tycoon multiplayer game. So I'm now here to get more of you involved, so here are some links to get you started

First things first you'll need Transport Tycoon Deluxe (TTD)
That can be found in the download section here
    http://www.transporttycoon.net/
    You need the windows version

Then to play under Windows XP/Vista you will need OTTD
    And thats here
    http://www.openttd.org/

Now your all ready to go.

Also i would suggest reading through some of the manual, for afew tips and tricks.

Yeah, TTD has been freeware for a while now and OTTD is an open source clone of TTD, you just need TTD for the graphics files

I'll check it out another day when i'm not overun with homework. The game looks quite simular to railroad tycoon only with less focus on buisness and money rather on rail network plan and design.

Well its stable, although there are some griefers, other than that much like single player but without the moronic AI, you can also play COOP where 2 or more people (up to 10 i think) run the same company.

playing on the same company is awesome, at start theres not much you can do together, but once you've got a few trains you'll have more than enough money for everyone to improve your railway system and expand. Great fun

Oh and you can also password your company so griefers can't fuck it up

Nairbeht: dial-upshould be fine multiplayer to quote from the wiki

'How much bandwidth does the game use?

    * The rate is approximately 1.2 kbyte/sec upload and 1.2 kbyte/sec download per client. Multiplying that up, a 10-player server will use approximately 12 kbyte/sec up and 12 kbyte/sec down (the exact numbers will depend on the number of retransmissions etc.). Therefore, a 10-player, 24/7 server will consume 60 Gbyte/per month of bandwidth if all 10 players are connected the whole month'

and Tridents about right about 15mb

Argh, how do i get it to run?

    1. I downloaded both the windows version of TTD and the patch

    2. I extracted them both

    3. in the TTD file i found the setup file and installed it

    4. I dragged and dropped all the files from the patch into the TTD directory

    5. i double clicked the patch to run the game... a DOS window pops up for half a secand then goes...

    ????

    profit
