    Mateba 2006M

Found image of a 3D model, it won't take a lot of polygons to make, maybe even less than that of Half Life 2's Anaconda.

Mateba 2006 is single action revolver, you need to cock it each for each bullet, it isn't semi-automatic.

    It will fit NF perfectly!

    There is also automatic variant.

I gotta say it'd make a good equivalent to the BE big pistol, but I don't think we have any modelers and the devs are still working on cleaning up the code. so I don't see this implemented any time soon, if ever.

Mmm, when it comes to source the hardest part in adding weapons is simply all the art work, the model/texture/and animations. Coding in a weapon doesn't really take long though if it's a simple bullet weapon like this is.

    And yeah I'd like it.

This "equivalent" actually packs way more punch, has less rounds, slower fire rate and lower accuracy since its a revolver.

Well that's too bad about modelers... :(

Cleaning up the code? It looks to me that there isn't need for that since the game is stable except for if being choosen as commader, don't do anything, exit and enter the CV to not crash when in commander mode building stuff.

Could devs use animation from Half Life 2's Anaconda revolver?

"stable" doesn't mean it's done right, or effectively for that matter. And I wouldn't call the game stable, it's been crashing a lot recently.
For all I know the performance issues with high player/tank count is because the code isn't optimized, but at this point I'm just guessing.

Learn blender / Maya / 3dsmax and join the team?

(we do have modellers, but we'd welcome another)

I would gladly, but those are pain in the ass... I love using sketchup for fun.

I am glad you have modellers...

Please no more sniper rifles. They are not good additions to empires.

This isn't a sniper rifle, its anti-materiel rifle that in real world would penetrate 80 mm of steel. RT-20 can penetrate a M2 Bradley.

Looks pretty cool, once I get all my tools reconfigured I might do some kind of mockup. I won't do a 100% copy of the Mateba but something kinda similar and NF themed.

Mateba and RT-20 look exactly what NF engineers would design... Doing anything differently is simply disservice to designers of these weapons.

Anyway who modeled Brenodi Sniper and Northern Faction SMG? They give me nightmares with all wasted polygons...
