The Empires OpenTTD Maraton 2015 #1 - Friday 21:00 GMT/16:00 EST/13:00 PST

So, it's time, finally. Assuming no drastic changes in my circumstances, I intend to start the OpenTTD marathon here.

However, you'll need a few things to run this properly.

1) First, you need the latest OpenTTD beta: http://www.openttd.org/en/download-testing

2) Once you've installed and run that once, you'll need to download this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1994002/grvts32.grf

Put that in users/yourname/mydocs/openttd/newgrf. This is a separate folder openttd creates when you run it, not your installation folder.

3) Once ingame, click "Check Online Content". Search "base" and download zbase. This part is semi-optional theoretically, but I went out of my way to test a lot of addons to find one that actually worked with 32bpp (super zoom level), and zbase is required to take advantage of this, though you could theoretically play without it. Once you have it downloaded (it's pretty big), click "Game options" and enable it as part of your graphic set.

4) Click multiplayer and search for Empires or EPIC or something along those lines. The server will appear. It'll make you enable the GRF you just installed, as well as making you download a small (3kB) new GRF. The password to the server is dicksdicksdicks. You can't do this step until Friday when the server is up though.

OPTIONAL EXTRA) If you want, you can also use the original assets. I highly recommend the music and sounds of the original 1994 game, as they're vastly superior to the offered "OpenSFX/MFX" alternatives. I'm not going to post them here, nor will I explain how to install them, but if you PM me or just ask me on Steam, I'll provide you with everything required. I can't really recommend this enough as I feel it really enhances the experience.
