Team fortress 2 looks cool, just wached the 2nd trailer, your thoughts...? Looks like a revivle of the 2 forts map:D
It looks cool, a lot like Spy Vs Spy. I doubt people will have those cool animations though... only thing I saw that I would expect in the game are the weopons and rag-doll physics :/ Can you really rocket-jump like that in TF?
I've never played TF so I wouldn't know :D And the reason it isn't in most FPS's is because it's completely unrealistic ;p
But thats whet made Quake fun, plus it was nessesary skill back in the day. Back when FPS's were about blasting everyone in your sight & campers were few.
Yeah but an atempt to rocket-jump in Half-Life 2: DeathMatch will kill you. As for CS: S DM, I never heard of it. Is it some type of plugin?
Yes, it is...when you die, you automatically respawn...you get a set of guns you get to choose....and its a nice change from hosties/bombs.
Too cartoonish for me from the looks, I'l just play Sourceforts which is hands down the best fort game so far although the rocket whores do get annoying sometimes.
TF2 isn't really a lot like Sourceforts because you build in Sourceforts :/ Only thing that is the same is the class selection feature, but Empires and NS have that too, right?
Every now and then it's good to play a game that's just fun, not serius, just fun and crazy. Besides, it comes free whith ep2.
But of course! God forbid TF2 be different from the original in any way. It's like those people who flat-out refuse to play CS:S, and will only play CS 1.6. DIFFRENT OMGZ NU! IS BAD!
I'd say it was very unfortunate how far Valve strayed from their original design. How could any company go from this: to this This is what the lead designer had to say about this: I'm still hoping that TF3: Brotherhood of Arms will come out to replace this "fast cash" project named TF2.
I don't see why you took my comment personally. I really don't. EDIT: Considering the amount of time it's (supposedly) taken, and the blatantly large effort to create TF2's specific style, I really can't consider it a "fast cash" project.
No, no, I didn't! It had nothing to do with the first sentence. It was a jab at those people who refuse to play CS:S and the like, not a jab at you. Damian, in response to your "OMG THIS SUX IT'S NOT REALISTIC LOOKING" comment: Found in a Game Informer interview here.
That was not my responce, all I said was that they strayed too much from their original concept. And yes I knew the reasons it's just that you'd think keeping character classes would be enough to give the player a more satisfying feeling of "now this is quality work" rather, "oh, this is unexpected." I dont know if you've seen the Brotherhood of Arms videos but if you did then you'd understand what I'm talking about.
This style reminds me alot of the game called "Evil Genius". At first I really didn't like this style, but after watching the videos and looking at some of the screenshots, it is starting to really grow on me... Im actualy realising that im tired of that "Modern Military" stuff thats out there right now, one way to change that is to add alot of techy shiney stuff (Looks like they tried that but scrapped the idea) or go highly stylized... Im actualy itching to play TF2 just beacuse of its style... Overall I think valve made a good call with TF2... Right after its release watch the entire gamig market plundge into an overstylezed comic frenzy... Then games that focus on realism will be rare since we are all swimming in charachters that look like something out of the 50's superman comics...
