This is completely random, but how about a tazer as a type of pistol. It wouldn't do a lot of damage but it would disable the character shot with it for a reasonable length of time. Cons would be a short range and an long reload time with only 2 or 3 shot. Maybe you could make it also scramble vehicle controls for a short time the advantage of this id you could be stealthier when ninja-ing because you could lay some one out without the death symbols and them raising the alarm.
if this is ingame, THEN they have to add the voice command for the victim. I remind you all of the image of an NF soldier shouting: "DANT TAEZ ME, BRO!"
I think it's kind of a good idea, but It doesn't really fit.. Maybe researchable as an optional pistol replacement for scouts(?)
That's something I can get behind. Right now, sniper scouts are dead in the water when it comes to CQC.
That sounds good, I was really just thinking of the lulz factor with a player model twitching all over the place.
For scouts, you can already kill someone with less sounds and no sign saying <> killed <>, if you have hide. Right?
it's a war, why on earth would you tazer someone? shoot them with a silenced weapon, sure. but tazer them? lol
Tazing someone is already slightly dangerous. If you were to bump the output a bit you would get less "shots" but, you could certainly kill someone. Except maby a rifleman.(that extra armor helps protect) As a balance... it should only have one round and take 2 seconds to reset for the next shot. It should also make a zapping sound even if it misses. So If you miss, your cover is blown. I hate the idea of someone typing when they die do to tazering tho. I recommend that if you get a successful zap, your enemy can't type for 5-8 seconds, thus allowing the scout to make a slight getaway.
But, really, who would research that? "Oh, gee, thanks comm, I sure am glad you researched improved nonlethal scout pistols. That sure is a help to us now that the enemy is steamrolling all over us with their superior heavy nuke tanks."
It would be cool for an engi, taze a tank, decon it a bit. but then the cv would be scrambled, every1 would yell at the comm whose trying to explain hes been tazed while every1 screams that hes not doing anything.
the idea is that tazing someone would put them out of commision longer than being killed. How about making it able to disable turrets for a short time and scramble vehicle controls.
there are other threads with suggestions that say unit based and weapons/tanks (current) based upgrades be seperate.. so that comm can upgrade heavy tanks as well as tazers for example.
