    Personally, I cant kill anybody with the standard MG. The chaingun on the other hand, is very good at it. I don't see where your complaints are coming from. That gun is pure rape if used correctly.

    For some reason I can't kill anyone with any kind of MG. I just use cannons for infantry smooshing fun.

    i can get alot of kills with it too but the heat makes fighting tanks and inf at the same time impossible.. but maybe thats how he wants it balanced.. 1 tank can be infantry killer and one can be tank killer

    its crazy on that map gylcen tho.. somtimes using tanks are really just useless and giving your enemeys more points..

    its like you drive into the middle and you got 4 or 5 grens shelling you.. so you respond with the chain gun which overheats you before you can kill 2 of them and while thats going on you have 2-3 tanks shooting shells at you.. it gets overwhelming

    Chaingun does rev up standard engine pretty fast but it is still less heat then trying to kill an inf with the standard cannon I find most of the time. I would actually like to see less heat usage on both.

    anything that works for an LT on the hectic "there are 5 grenadiers on my screen at once" gameplay of glycen is gunna be hella unballanced in the standard game. frankly, i'm happy with it how it is. I've used it to great effect. it's FAR better at killing infantry than any other vehicle gun is, with the exception of HE for killing infantry behind cover or at massive range.

    I don't know if it's my ping, odd hitboxes because of the new network code or combinations of both, but I've had some pretty accurate (read: they're standing still for two seconds at semi-point blank range) CG shots that didn't kill the enemy. Rather annoying.

    why is it that cooling requires a second before it kicks in? all this does is benefit people that continually spam your tank to prevent you firing really, not those people that ballance up their shots and such.

    Any noob to empires will see the imbalance w/ BE in general.
    Not just about the 2x canons w/ be heavy. Though this does take the cake. The fact they can alter the load out, ie 1 he 1 plsma or whatever. Nf dosn't have this.
    Slow down the BE heavy? 2 x mls slots for Nf heavy? What if the cool spikes on the front did damage when rammed into a tank? Someone mentioned about the sideports on the NF tank. Why not?
    IF you could get those to be functional somehow... suprise BE tank is no longer the super tank.
    "This is really only a factor in tank wars" not really since escort is Tank wars for BE only. I mean trying to kill a 6 plated heavy tank shooting nukes thats protecting the arty thats dropping he shells on NF spawns... ? And NF has the ticket count to worry about? (this rants for another thread I'm sure)

    what about APCs?
    With the top hatch open for infantry to shoot out from. Nf dosn't have this.

    Even the jeeps with NF's rollbars are slanted towards Be.
    Threads not about buildings but... the raxes? I mean common.

    Maybe for those that've been in the community for so long see it as the fun challenge of the skilled to overcome, but I assure you a noob will see them as dumb imbalances and unless they can get onto BE its gonna be the dumb imbalances as their reasons for loosing the round and eventually leaving the mod.
    Unless...unless your planning something tricky with the aeroplanes... to give NF a boost...I dk.

    NF has the light tank, which unlike the heavy tank, is used in every single match there is (the heavy is one game in twenty).

    NFAR used to be a beast in 1.08, but people nerf'd that (fair enough) however, it still is better than it's BE counterparts. similarly, the NFHR is better in many ways than the BEHR.

    Personally, with the exception of the barracks, I think NF and BE are fairly matched.

    the pause before cooling is probably just the way that heat can go over the 100% mark (i.e. the top of the bar) so takes a moment to go back down again?

    With the BE heavy tank (and maybe even medium) I'd like to see some enforced weakeness on the rear armour again - however silly it is it makes it more fun and give NF a reason to go for speed etc. Maybe not even the old 2 plate limit, but something less than the current model.
