The whole server just left when they had to download midbridge. So, add a lot more maps to the stock content?
I could swear I just posted in this thread. Oh, Dz made 2 threads because Idk why. I'll copy paste from the other thread and delete that one: Midbridge is official already, I just assume VIPER is using a custom version due to a model being missing on the official version at the moment. There are plans to add a few more officials in the next LARGE update. I'm thinking Homeland, Forest and then some of the following: Manticore, Downfall, Havoc, Cod or Raiders. Raiders would need a bit of work first (visually speaking, gameplay is fine). Since the latest update, Manticore is virtually a different map than it used to be now. It's gone from one of my most hated maps to one that I look forward to playing. A bit more work and it should make a great stock map.
i never got how people quit because they have to download a map for dunno a minute or smth. is todays kids attention span really that short?
some people are still on low end dsl(I was fir 5 years) and it takes 5 minutes to download a map. 768kbps = 35kbs averaged for me. I fucking complained and nagged there ass out about it too. "We are sorry for your inconvenience sir but, all the lines in your area of modesto are pretty old and degraded this is the best performance we can give you." FUCKING GIVE ME HALF OFF THEN! So every year I had to call in to get a 50% discount.
For some reason empires refuses to download map custom maps for me, if its going to download a map it has to be an alternate version of a stock one or an update to a map. I had to visit VIPERS little folder thing and download each map individually. I very much enjoy King, but with all the shit in the map makes a hefty download if some optimization for the map could be done, I think people would play it more.
So... when is the next time we can get a "map packs" released? That way we can download shit at our leisure instead of on a map change.
why is emp_empirescub_b3 not official yet? I run it on viper when I want to seed, most of the time we start out with 3 players and end up with 12+ in the end. Just to clarify, I'm not saying "bring back the blossom of fun maps". Having one good funmap official, would newbs allow a quicker join process ->faster seed -> sooner back in good big games on other stock maps.
I dunno, we have district and escort already. EDIT: Just messing around, but I disagree. Stock's stock, keep funmaps to custom maps. We're not Obsidian Conflict.
