I LOVE duststorm. if it was made into a 16x map, the river should be more prominent, to break up the landscape.
None of the current maps are recreations of the emp42 maps, which is kindof a shame, because Desert Valley and Baen Island were great. There are some in the works that extend selected emp42 maps.
What about having a repair pad type thing that spawns a new jeep every once and a while. Prevent spam if they were free and cut down on the cost issue.
Since I never played emp42, I don't know what any of the maps even look like. Besides, we all know I'm the suck at mapping.
In BF 42, most maps took you awhile to get from place to place. When you controlled a resource point, you usually ended up building a forward base around it and working from there because it was too far to go from your initial base to attack the enemy. Canyon is a small map and you usually just spawn and go from your first base without worrying about creating a forward base.
canyon is a SMALL map?!!! i usually end up making 5 - 6 barracks around that map, preferably one with every ref. you never know how useful that is.
Will ML turrets be able to shoot 90° upwards to counter airplanes, serving as ML and SAM units alike?
it should be big, expensive and large ranged, so you only need a few, and they are easy to knock out...
I suggested a while ago giving one side missiles and one side guns of some sort. Instantaneous, avoidable damage, vs. unavoidable, slow, DoT
Well, machine guns can be fit with a device that shoots in the direction the object is going, very effective against everything that can't strafe. The downside on the missile turret should be either speed, or turret health.
pom-poms ftw. Different sides getting different AA would be good, as long as the advantages and disadvantages are somewhat realistic. But I'm sure Krenzo knows a fair amount about the subject.
