What you guys said, I played a bit more today, and its not just ok, I love it, exactly the points shinzon highlights.
Yeah. I still think Meds could use some buffing of one sort. Give an option for 1-slot shells, make them a little stronger, which will keep LT's updated so they aren't COMPLETELY useless late-game, and buff the existing cannons a little. They still feel a little weak.
I think perhaps the medium tank needs a 50% basic deflect armor, and the heavy 75% basic deflect (may differ between factions), so a light tank with a cannon will basically be too ineffective to take on other tanks. But, say, a single cannon could be upgraded to make it do normal regular cannon damage. So after some research the LT could stand a chance again. Same with mediums. The heavy tank right now does not take a whole lot more shots than a medium does, there should be a massive difference in my opinion, and researching better weapons should be a maximum priority. About this deflect, I suppose it would even work if the tank is completely unarmored, but of course it would still make a difference if it has no plating. I think this idea will be neigh impossible to implement though!
Because NF mediums SUCK. They only have 3 plates of armor, are as large as an AFV, and are slow as balls. They probably need some buffing as well. They are barely EVER used.
Regular cannon = single cannon The Nf med and heavy tanks look a lot like eachother right now, changing the med to be smaller would be good.

I think that turret would be massively impractical to be honest... How about something like this for the NF?
we're not changing the model... i mean come on it's not THAT important. I think there SHOULD be some small one slot researchable cannons, so that as a commander you have the option to mass lots of small tanks if you want... what about a micro railgun and a micro HE? micro HE: 2x damage of small shells, 1.5x reload mircro railgun: 1x damage of small shells, 0.5x reload.
Wouldn't that make all other tanks obsolete? It makes the LT's even more powerful than before this change.
Also there's no extra heat output from the engine while you move. Edit: I would keep the reloading time and damage done by standard cannon now. Just change the heat output to 15 units or so. Then you could actually drive and miss some shots too and not just sit there and carefully aim to make your every shot hit.
How about giving the medium 3 1-slot cannons, and giving more 1 slot cannon options? Make it a tri-cannon tank.
Does it stack up untill it overheats after driving for a good long while, or does it halt at a certain percentage and stay there?
some hard to reach (I.E, available long after you could have had meds and such) researchable one slot cannons would be really cool
Depending on your throttle, they'll output heat. It's never more than it dissipates, but it makes cooling off take longer when you're driving at full throttle.
My idea for single slot research: Seismic Cannon and Napalm Cannon Although seismic cannons wouldn't make tanks better for anti tank...
