Alright, for the last few times I've been comm, I've been griefed.
    FOR THE LAST THREE TIMES.

    What I propose:
When you exit the Commander Vehicle, NO ONE can enter it for 30 seconds. This will allow ME to go build what I need to build WITHOUT fear of being GRIEFED.

    Pro's:
    NO MORE GRIEFING
Comm can safely get out to build things.

    Con's:
Will take time to switch comms?

Big problem I see is this:

    1. You jump out to build something
    2. You get killed by ninja
    3. Other teammates can't quickly jump in to move it out of danger
    4. ....
    5. Fail

Play on a server that is being Moderated, like Emp4All or Nachos. They have most of the time at least one admin online, that can quickly deal with any griefer.

Also note that there is a comm kick vote with f s space.

An alternative might be, that if the voted comm does f s space, the commander that is currently in the command seat will get kicked out.

Good point. Change the original request to "can't enter CV for 30 seconds OR if the previous Commander is dead".

Well there has to be some way, because I play on Nachos all the time, and all three times I've spammed "GREIFER STOLE THE COMM FS SPACE" and nothing happens.

GIVE THE VOTED COMM THE ABILITY TO KICK THE CURRENT COMM OUT WITH F S SPACE. AND REMOVE THAT ABILITY IF HE GOT KICKED OUT OF THE COMM SEAT. ALSO LOWER THE AMOUNT OF VOTES REQUIRED TO KICK THE COMM.

ITS CAPSLOCK DAY BECAUSE ITS NESQUIKOS BIRTHDAY!
    <how to brake caps breaker?>

Then the majority of the team has done a fault and must play with this. :p
Normally the other team wins really quick and you get another chance on the next map.

It's not like a noob comm player will be hogging the controls and not letting an experienced comm take over.
It is usually how things are done.

    this idea is pretty nifty...

and how many times does someone try and drive away your comm when you are under attack anyway?

Do I really need to answer that?
This is what happened to me.

Story 1: APC rush sighted, there were 3 apc's in their base, and more coming out. We had lev3 turrets. I wall off some entrances, and put 15ml's around me. I get out to build said ML's, then BAM. Someone jumps in, then drives off. Got killed by the rush.

Story 2: Emp_clycopean. I had an idea to banish my team from building the first 2 refineries, and I'd get them. (Comm is overheated anyways.) I jump out, build one, a straggler turns around and jumps into the CV, and builds a VF.

Point is, THERE NEEDS TO BE SOME COUNTER-MEASURE.

It's simple. We can make the rules complicated, so we can cover all the issues people have raised here.

    1. In the first 30 seconds, while the comm is still locked, things work how they are now. This way, if the person who was voted comm bails as soon as the game starts, someone else can replace them. (Personally, I would favor opt-in for comm selection, as another way to avoid this, but that's a separate issue.)

    2. The person voted in at the beginning of the map is the "official" comm. The official comm can automatically kick anyone else out of the CV by entering the votekick command or by trying to enter it themselves. In addition, 'unofficial' comms are easier for the rest of the team to vote out (they require fewer votes.) If an official comm is voted out, they cease to be the official comm.

    3. If an unofficial comm is in the CV for a certain length of time (say, two minutes), they become the new official comm. Note that this means that if an old comm drops connection and someone else gets in, there's a "waiting period" before they become the new official comm -- in that time they can be votekicked more easily.

    4. Aside from the grace period at the start of the game (while the CV is still locked), if an official comm gets out manually (ie isn't kicked), is still alive, and is still within a certain distance of the CV, then nobody else can enter it.

Overall, while these might sound complicated, they should behave in a generally common-sense fashion.
