scout perk for oneshot kills w/ sniper

    what if scout perk that increases damage of their sniper to, like, 100? people with health upgrade could survive a shot

    might be too op

    Scout rifle is kinda balanced I think, it's hard to use really well, but certainly useable.

    If I were to suggest anything, cut the damage and increase the ROF/zoom level, might make it a bit easier to use as it can be kinda tricky at the moment.

    can I just say most vets can hit body shots like it is nothing, headshots are different but bodyshots so easy, scouts would just dominate the scene imo.

    Let me just give you a quick sneak preview in the future.

    *Scout perk gets implemented*
    YouzY picks up scout rifle kills everything he sees in less than 2 seconds insta aiming scunt rifle switching pistol going pew pew on errbody.

    Other team commander: THE ONLY THING IM HEARING IS CASUALTY CASUALTY CASUALTY CASUALTY

    maybe a better rifle for each team thats bolt action with a huge ass reload time but oneshot?

    This community does not like the helplessness that comes from being attacked by a long range rifle, along with the pittance of teamwork required by the marksman.

    Bottom line, in Empires you should always have to use teamwork to succeed and you should never feel completely helpless.

    I think something like 33 damage per shot to the body, 66 damage to the head but they remove that fucking jitter forever.

    Then print out the code to jitter the fucking gun and burn it.

    Yeah, making a weapon that can one shot people actually take a modicum of skill is a bullshit idea!

    If you got rid of the sway, then you'd have to lower the headshot damage to something lik 25. Past that and it'd be overpowered as fuck.

    It used to do something like 33 damage per bodyshot and 99 at most on a headshot. And if you had a modicum of skill required to overcome the sway, it was perfectly fine.

    I want the scout rifle to be rebalanced.

    Modified Scout Rifle:

    + Headshot always one-shot kills.
    - You can't aim 100% accurate without ADS.

    I hate the fact in any game that someone is able to survive headshots. Especially in this game since headshots are so difficult to pull off. Seriously, 70% of my scout rifle kills are body shots and if I'm lucky enough to hit someone in the head he won't die most of the time because of Grenadier-/Riflearmor or he has more than 100HP with Health-Upgrade.

    problem is that sniper rifles wont be balanced on maps where you need more then 2-3secs in between cover (= thats time for 1 shot).
    on empires maps you often are in plain sight of the scout for about 15seconds upwards. this is why its not so bad on chokepointy maps like canyon or slaughtered, but horrible on isle and duststorm.
    on district or escort its no issue whatsoever, as long as you keep moving you will never be in plain open sight for longer then what 5secs or smthg.
    why is that so? because large open areas with null cover are an absolute requirement for empires as you need to build bases - thats why its best on conquest- and escort-type maps and worst on classic maps.

    and if you acc with scoped rifles is worse then a above 60% hit ratio on mobile targets you are doing it wrong anyway. so this means on empires classic maps you will at least hit each other shot on any target on most maps - or said differently, in most cases you will hit the target at least once when it runs from cover to cover, since the distances are far enough.
    this is why there shouldnt be any scoped rifles in the first place, especially not one-shotting ones.

    im not sure bout headshots actually. though i like the concept and if trained you can have quite reliable head hits in close-med distance, but the maps simply provide way to little cover for such mechanics and its getting quite random when you headshot guys across view distance, though you actually only sprayed. but yes, i still like the mechanic, so i opt out.

    flasche the current scout rifle combat is like this.

    Long distance:

    ADS or if your skilled enough Prone/Crouch fire, Scout will win eventually due to 2-3 body shots, headshot will be a fcking nonsense since enemies die to 2 headshots so better aim for the body instead.
    Enemies have no chance to kill you unless they have an AR/Rocket/Mortar/Pistol.

    Medium distance:

    Crouch fire, 2-3 body shots is the secret again but you need a lot of luck to dodge the bullets the enemy will shoot at you in the mean time. You have no time to ADS because you will slow-down in no time making it easier for your enemy to hit you.
    So yea, here the enemy has a big chance to kill you unless your very skilled.

    Short distance:

    Your fucked unless you get lucky with 2-3 body shots while standing stance.

    So most of the time scouts will not even go for scout rifle since it's a fckin piece of garbage. Most of the encounters will be close quarters anyway and if you wanted to combat someone long distance you would go for Rifleman's AR since it's both VERY accurate and most useful in close combat. SMG1 or SMG2 is the only solution.

    So yeah basicly sniper rifle is not fun to use at all, unless your just very bored to own everyone with the NF AR and you want to have a challenge.

    i also assumed non-retard scunts, so both mortar and rpg aint an option. mortar dont fly far enough and getting hit by rpg is bad luck.

    you also wont get in situations where you have to fight rifles face on unless an apc comes close ...
    ... and if they randomly hit you over distance, you still have regen if no engi is nearby. only thing that stops you is running out of ammo ;)

    Quick question, what the hell does "ADS" stand for anyway? I've never heard anyone use that acronym outside of this thread before.
