I don't know why it was implemented at start but, if they get rid of it now and the wages for squad come in, there will be no way to keep people from joining your squad and using up your squad res.

Less squad numbers means more people in the same squad, and people are going to have to learn about team work.

Then prevent the whining bitching and moaning and have squad points and then get normal res for everyone to use. That way it's not one person fucking over the squad, it's one person fucking over the whole team.

Because there is no way to ban people from squad so if they wanted to; they could join your squad after you kicked them.
Having a retard in my squad is a retard taking the spot of someone who could be useful in my squad. Plus it makes changing squad leaders that much more difficult.

Empires isn't Kindergarten. The game shouldn't force you to get along and play with your teammates. Often the game is won by one competent squad on either team. If the other insignificant little fucks want to join the score leader's most active squad, they don't because they don't fuckin get it. So locked squads tells people to fuck off.

    MR SARKY
so, then, lets create a complicated environment where not only the players' ability as player will be tested but also, the ability to deal with complex psychological squad allocation endeavours.

lets add sudoku puzzles to squad selcetion so you have to complete an easy square to find a squad. then you have to complete a crossword to JOIN a squad.

    MR ME
i would rather have 5 people not in squads and 20 people in 4 squads, than have everyone in a squad of 2.

I'd rather have the squads of 2 working in pairs, than 20 people in 4 squads paying no attention to the rest of their squad.

youre relying on very few selfish people to take on an entire team.

why is this in consideration. If you were to have 2 people per squad on a full server it would use up 16 squads (so why the fuck not use up the rest of the alphabet).

why are you trying to force people to play in the same squads? the good thing about the squad menu is that if a new player is the first to join alpha then a more experience player could join another squad and poach people to his squad.

although i do like the 0 selecting everyone

    i dont understand your madness.

if we have 26 people per team, and each one joins a squad, what is the point ?
the huge number of possible squads - by design inhibits team play.

I only ever see people use 3, maybe 4 squads in a normal game. The only couple of maps that ever get more than that would be district and escort, where you get flamed for NOT being in a squad.

    You don't need 26 squads.

Assuming four players per squad for greatest utility, and the largest server is 32 players per team, that's 8 squads maximum needed, assuming everyone is in a squad, and the squads are spread out thinner rather than being 5 to a squad.

Having too many squads which serve only to confuse and detract from the team coordination is not a feature, it's retarded.

squads should hide themselves if not joined by anyone, and when a player selects "create squad" a new letter is chosen
players intending to join a squad can then pick from the squads already made and join them or as wel make a new one

I like it for the GUI posted. Sure, you can pick anywhere from Alpha to Zulu, but there is an area which shows the ACTIVE squads. This probably deserves a new consideration I guess.

    HAHAHA OH WOW
    Because it's better.

Empires needs it's players being seriousfags instead of trollfags. Like every game is a SCRIM or something.

Squads shouldn't be forced. People should make the concious decision to join them. That way, they know when they're being ordered to do something.
