Its not a cheat if its available to the pubic. Thats like saying i'm cheating because i know beauce i learned how to speed reed.
Wrong. If everyone is not playing with custom item A, the item is giving everyone who has it an unfair advantage (e.g. the definition of cheating).
Availability is not an argument. Anyone can cheat and yet it's still called cheating. That said, not all unfair advantages are necessarily cheating. (Mainly just the ones involving custom content, external programs, or admin aboose.) The see-through walls look nifty. I imagine there's a UT-styled mod that could benefit from that. (And put the wallhack makers out of a job.)
With an good whitelist you could allow 90% of the current custom content and get rid of pretty much all the cheats that give a reasonably sized advantage. There is really no reason not to.
This is the most sensible approach. Whitelist vgui and some other stuff. And just keep on adding stuff to the whitelist, when people make new stuff. Trickster and his Haxpires is really annoying.
Well duh, it's not like any empires sounds have such significance that to change them would give you an advantage, it's not like spy cloak in TF2 or footsteps, empires sounds are really just extra info being given to you on the situation. VGUI just makes empires nicer to play.
Idk, weapon sounds CAN give an advantage. I've suffered since I removed all my custom vehicle sounds. They were so distinctive that I could literally tell a mile off what was coming towards me (Party Bus APC/CV etc).
Fuck that. EPIC has had a monopoly on Empires exploits and hacks since I could remember. Trickster has already made powerpoint presentations for his clan on different workarounds for sv_pure 1. This will screw the newfags in Consortium that rely on the most obvious exploits for non-pure-content (NPC) servers.
It is pretty sad to even spend a few seconds contemplating to use exploits just so you can be good on public servers, but leading a clan with the sole goal of cheating is beyond my understanding
Well played then I suppose This quattro formaggi pizza has far too much tomato sauce in it and not enough CHEESE goddammit
manipulating sound or textures on your game is for the low lives anyway who don't care about the game, just being top gun. If I edited the game so there were no particles, all the walls were transparent, player models were neon blue/red, gun shots and footstep sounds were amplified by 1000%, I might have a better chance than the other guy, but it would make the game unplayable.
I'm not capable of operating powerpoint And besides, most of the "hacks" come from a certain ex-BSID, JPL, now Consortium person.
