I would imagine that the empires community might have some interest in an iron grip game. That game always seemed like it had the potential to be great fun, but the problem was the commander had even more power than in emp to screw everything up

Oh wow that feels like ages ago now.
That mod was amazingly playable for just an incomplete alpha version version.
It's pity that people soon stopped playing it and development died off on the mod. :(

    ARG SOURCEFORTS... MY BABY...

I'm a vet of 2 years from that game, I'm so fucking great that it got boring, whichever team I was on in a pub won, compared to some I wasn't that great, it's just that every other vet got bored and left before I did. And yes, it was all about movement exploits, some of which I've been able to carry over to empires (I've managed to nade jump over a chasm about 40 yards wide, in empires. And I can strafe jump the gap in escourt, even the new versions. I can also time second hand mortar jumps sometimes so they don't kill me but instead propel me to safety, hard to predict them though). Right now, it's got 20 players, 13 on one server. That game, believe it or not was made by a Russian 12 year old. A bit like Krenzo...

So yeah, I CHALLENGE YOU MOFOS TO A SF DUEL OF EPIC PROPORTIONS!!

Ah Science and Industry, like an infantry only game of empires with a democracy instead of a commander.

Also, I hear IronGrip was good mod but ive never seen people playing it... maybe we should put together a game.

    That's like saying
    Salami > The number 7

Ones a puzzle and the other is team based deathmatch, there's no comparison D:

Ok, I will rephrase. Mr. Whirly, and by association R&D, is more awesome than some team based DM.

Your avatar lols me with this.

As for SI, I've been playing it a bunch recently with some guys around... we have like 7 players max. And there are 2 servers constantly up.

One thing I definitely noticed about it is how interconnected the research tree is, even if it is really small. Whatever, it works, its pretty fun.
Sorta like Empires, but very much not.

My favorite dead mods were for HL1: Hostile Intent, Firearms, Science & Industry.

However, I think the best I've played was HL2:JKS.

One mod that I wish had a community in the first place is Move In!, also for HL1.

Ahh Hostile Intent, probably my favorite shooter of all time.

Anyone remember that Vampire game that was awesome? Different characters had different ability's and weapons and it was a blast for a while.

    The ship was hilarious.

Whats that one old mod? I think it was called Counterstripe or something like that. Wonder if it ever got anywhere.

    HL1:
    Rocket Crowbar
    Rocket Crowbar 2
    Science & Industry
    Tour of Duty
    Firearms
    The Specialists
    Weapons Factory
    Scientist Slaughterhouse
    Hostile Intent

    HL2:
    Plan of Attack
    SourceForts
    Iron Grip

Seems like nearly all of those were listed already.
