Radar Sabotoge

    Sabotaging the radar should make research time be extended by 1.2 times of a research item's original time, if that research item was being researched at the time of the radar being sabotaged.

    Hold that thought:

    -Freeze research progress if there are no non-sabbed radars.
    -If all of a team's radars are completely destroyed, research is canceled and resources are refunded

    1.2 times just seems kinda... weak. Even nukes would only take half a minute more.

    2.25 has a hud element that shows current research with time remaining. This would make sabbed radar obvious which could be a very good or very bad thing depending on how you spin it.

    Just throwing that out there.

    This has been suggested before in various forms.

    The problem I have with it is that it makes it way too easy for one scout to change the course of the entire game, with no teamwork and nobody really supporting them. It encourages lone wolf scouts to constantly push at your radar.

    Additionally, on just about any map, it's very easy for one determined person to randomly slip back to your base. To prevent your radar from being sabbed, you'll have to guard it, or regularly killspawn back to repair it. Neither of those things seem very fun to me. Do you want to be the guy sitting in your empty base waiting for a scout who attacks maybe once every two minutes, with nothing else going on? Do you want to be constantly screaming for people to killspawn back to your base to repair the radar, with your team getting more and more crippled for every second of delay?

    I just don't think it would really add to the game, basically. Scouts should be rewarded for cooperating with their teammates, and should have abilities that work well with their teammates. They shouldn't be encouraged to try and sneak into an empty base and sab things there, because the gameplay that encourages -- assigning someone to defend your empty, mostly-inaccessible base 24-7 -- is just not very fun.

    Sabbing the radar to give you visuals of the enemy base and when they are making tanks doesn't help the team?

    Sab hits buildings for 50% of their health, coordinated with an attack, it's very powerful. I think that more incentive is needed to scout in a serious game, as all the current scouts simply sab shit for the lols while hiding in the perfect spots where you go completely invisible on a building or are hidden by a wall that doesn't have a collision mesh.

    Not a single person would scout in a serious match
