quickfix for plasma make it like a "decent" weapon damage wise and low area of effect, marginally better then std make it add "almost" no heat to yourself, and do normal "heat from damage" to enemies (same or slightly better then std, nothing special) put in chemistry (as in chemically generated plasma, meaning it could theoretically be fired cold, while it heats in the air) same for any plasma weapon
Wouldn't it make more sense to just make it a decent cannon with normal damage, fire rate, and heat etc, and keep it in physics? I mean if it's a functional cannon in a tree with no other cannons, you could research it simply to have a cannon quickly when you go for that tree, or you could go for another tree with a specialised cannon in it.
Why open up Biology, Physics, 2 sub-trees, and then 3 researches, when you can open up Physics, 1 sub-tree, and 3 researches?
Don't think so... Mebbe it should be more like a low-heat weapon that you can fire almost indefinately before overheating, while it does regular heat to the target. It does work atm - in niche conditions, but maybe if it worked a little differently, it could be more versatile. Perhaps a (more dangerous than std) weapon that could be quickly accessible without the need for upgraded engines? Just a thought.
Speaking of; is there a place to see weapon stats? I'm not sure if the wiki is up to date because the stats are all silly.
Not really. I update them that often that the wiki doesn't really get edited to keep up, and it's a bit more complicated now that most of the files are only accessible via GCFscape. SVN scripts are more updated than the actual Steam version.
it makes absolutely no sense to put it into chemisty, it would be more attractive to NF and there already is HECN. bio lacks a cannon - but its your job finding reasons, i never needed much ... ... maybe blood plasma? it disgusts enemies so much they puke, idk ...
i meant reasons from a techtree point of view it also sucks that phyiscs has no missiles f.e., id place either guided or homing there - again your job to find reasons, it just makes more sense to me to have one cn, ml and mg per tree (except for the one where chassis are) and it basically already is like that, just needs some moving around and madeup reasons ... (edit: ok physics has nukes, but thats a whole different story, also equally efficient for both teams)
lol. dee. is your avatar Yui Hirasawa? id like to see plasma as an EFFECTIVE niche weapon in end game battle.
Yes, but what if the other team is also using bio or coolant engine? It is fucking worthless as it ends up just overheating yourself before you overheat the enemy.
You do know that the enemy usually fires their weapons at you when they are close? So that their heat is their own + added heat = overheat.
