I was playing a game couple of days ago against a team which went physics and death APCs. We went with upgraded turrets and supporting LTs with reactive armour. It was slower, but we pushed them back enough that they never recovered. At least, that's what happened in my area of the map. Empires is great because you can play for an hour and only have a little idea about what's going on on the other side of the map
Yeh MG upgrades are usually overlooked by inexperienced comms - I find explosive tipped bullets work the best, since they fire less often you dont have to keep your cursor on the target the whole time - theyre also conveniently in chemistry.
So we will see aircrafts with like, 6 chain guns? Infantry here we go.. EDIT: Will aircraft overheat?
Paratroopers will have a meaning in Empires now. So, if airplanes would have heat, then the best fighter weapon would be overheating-mg.
I'm guessing the overheating mg will just stall them, I'd guess the homing missiles would be more useful with aircraft than they currently are with anything else, mostly because the aircraft (fighters especially) will probably be moving too fast to aim. I'm thinking nukes would be cool on aircraft though, topedo bombers!
This is going off topic now but... In my opinion when you overheat your aircraft should start to lose its power from its engines and when you have reached the maximum heat level in your heat bar, your engines stall, stop functioning, and if you're lucky, you may manage to get enough heat down to get your engines back online before you crash to the ground like a rock and manage to make your aircraft hover above the ground right before the crash. In my opinion this would be very interesting and also if you stayed too long at the same spot trying to raise your aircraft vertically, you would burn your engines too in this situation and you would crash it to the ground sooner or later because of gained heat.
