Haven't tested the new particles yet, but if that's the case, then it isn't working properly, because it lasts a lot longer than that.

A few notable, contributing players, myself included. Since when has this community been a listen-to-the-majority mob rule anyway? What does it matter if several hundred haven't said anything - if things are fine for them, they'll still be fine if things are fixed for everyone else. There's either a) one group wins, b) both groups win. Clearly (b) is the better option.

At that, more people should try forcing DirectX 8.0 or 8.1, but the fact that one feature improvement requires they do that speaks volumes.

I can't say I'm surprised at your posts, given your prop-whoring on your good ol' revision of emp_slaughtered that many of us remember.

I told you this like ages ago empty ... the true lag producer is the sab smoke, because it doesn't work proberly it draws sometimes twice etc etc ...

Also dubee stop being poor or I suggest Krenzo should charge you your single beer per day you can buy through begging, for particle fixes ... :D

And this statement explains why your particles are so fucking laggy.

I think you should bring back the original 2.25 nuke particles. I quite liked them.

Just a massive pillar of fire.
Admittedly awesome but it really was a lot more intensive than the current one.

By your logic particle effects should be:

Yes, I think the developers of quake had a good model for a successful franchise.

    Not for me it doesn't.

Sure you don't have my particles installed? Because I added long lasting smoke to some effects.

Yeah, I took the ones I based my opinion off from a 2.25b stock install that I keep as a backup. It's completely untouched.

Could be your computer, I recall we experienced timing differences when I gave you a set once.

Empty are you using the max emitted per frame parameter in the emitters? Think it's a property of instantaneous emitters.

That's only a continuous emitter property.

I have noticed that in some cases alpha rendering changes over machines, but to the best of my knowledge this isn't the case with the current build.

If someone could take a few screenshots of HE explosions I can compare and it might be the problem.
