believe it or not, the smoke allowed grenadiers reload time so they wouldn't get destroyed, although it was a bit exaggerated in the past few vers. I'm more of complaining on the fire colour itself, it just looks too funny.
Devs should code empires to run under 3dfx glide. I remember seeing warzone 2100 run with additive particles for the first time when I got my voodoo card and I was like HOLY SHIT.

I had a few effects in the last batch you could see through walls (HE primarily) but they should be fixed.
- Problem I have with the tracers is that it looks like you should lead your shots. Maybe that makes sense for vehicles and their glitchy prediction, but for infantry? - The RPG/mortar look better (too bad the std CN/ML aren't updated), but the large cannon explosions (HE/Plasma) are white-out bombs. - Building fire is nice looking, even if the fire originates from magic orbs. - The seismics really are cool as shit. Also, peanut gallery here: I don't think the heat effect is worth the effort.
Which heat effect? Refraction you mean? I can nerf down HE and plasmas glowyness a bit. I haven't really gone over STD weapons yet. I can also probably speed up bullets. I'm probably going to do some more with building fire, they are kinda mystical atm.
Bump. Are you going to do something about the mortar particles Empty? Because during the last playtest it was the only thing that annoyed me. And on escort I noticed the new particles for bio ml, it was some kind of green tentacle fog that stayed for a rather long time. It looked like a roadkilled octopus' ghost that was green for some reason.
Yeah I sent in the wrong version of the bio explosion. Dunno what that was about. Whats wrong with the mortar?
