Lazybum will be captain of team NOVEMBER with Jephir and Brentor as his commanders, with Asz as a backup commander. To signup for the event just join the steam group of the team you want to play on. It will be 1 round each map. We will decide which side each team will play on with a coin toss before each map starts. Other Stuff We hope this will become a 16v16, that is the goal, but if we don't quite get enough signups it will be a 11v11. Server will be Viper's. Will lock the groups when we have enough people. Finally, please only join 1 group and try to make teams fair. We want good, fun games. Also a big thanks to lazybum for doing the write up I love him so much. I don't like that we have to pick teams. I like all of those people and I really wouldn't care which team I play on.
Asking people to pick a team is also a bad way to ensure a good match. We should have one pooled group with all potential players and then let the leaders draft a team from the pool. Then team size is organically decided by player demand. If you get an even number of players, then each team has the same number of players. If you get an odd number of players, then the team with the second draft pick will have one extra player, but that extra player is the least desired player in the entire pool, so it's kewl.
Our next performance is called "Scenes from a hat." Its where I randomly pull a scene from a hat and say it out loud, and the ones on stage have to perform it. Our first one is. "Things to say before a scrim." Draw names out of a fucking hat.
I think a small point about this is that it gives players the choice to play on the teams they want to(something that can't happen in captain's draft) and quite simply it hasn't really been tried before. I feel like if people get to choose they will be more likely to show up, unlike if they get picked and they don't like some of the other players on their team so they decide not to show. Anyways give it a shot it could be good, also I will do an announcement some time later on the pug group. I will say I'm kinda miffed the hyperlinks didn't make it through, I made it look all nice and stuff.
You guys could stop bitching about the event format and just go with it. You have nothing better to do in terms of Empires scrims other than this.
I'll definitely sign up at some point, but I don't know which team to join up on, so I'm holding off for now.
