Wondering how the game is these days, kinda wondering weather or not to install and give this game a play again. It was kinda badass back in the day.

Yay. Another remotely decent player that isn't 100% retarded.

 

Game is shit, playerbase is shit, too many shit maps, absorbent is OP, UMLs do 3x damage against absorbent compared to HE, most good clans have collapsed, team stacking has reached an all new high, new player ability has reached an all new low, tanks are broken, devs have too much work, people keep bitching and Empires is still Specpires when it's not Stackpires.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

 

Game is still quite funny and binding. The real playerbase has changed a lot in the last year but the forum is the same crappy people as the last two years.

Give it a try and don't judge to fast.

 

The game is the same but the playerbase is nothing like it was. Just install it, see what you think I guess. Some really really old comparative opinion would be nice though.

I like the game when its a 20VS20 on a non shit map and I have a semi decent squad.

If you knew eth0 you'll be happy to see he's still playing, except he only plays 1 map (escort) then talks in spectator about things hes passionate about.

 

Needs more GenBrown, SnakeDFox, Pickled_Heretic, and Axeman. And eth0s. Fucker had the voice of a God.

 

Whenever eth0 isn't on the server, it's a generally nicer atmosphere.

 

Empires without eth0s words of wisdom streaming through the earphones like an avalanche is like mentos without mint.

 

The game is the same, the community have just got stuck on the part "it was better in the old days", which I don't think it was

 

So much better nowadays.

There were retards then and there are retards now.
The main difference is theres about 10 god awful maps that everyone loves for some reason, so instead of having 4 or 5 good rounds and then district or slaughtered (which I can deal with happily) we have 10 shit maps, then 10 shit maps, then 10 shit maps, then dead server.

 

I never took a screenshot of it, but I firmly remember both the old G4TC server and Viper server being simultaneously filled to the brim 2 years ago. The ELC was able to have decent matches while Viper had it's 40 - 48 players at that time.
