I agree with Shinzon and Sandbag, mines aren't something you quickly throw down on the ground in the midst of battle, it's something that (at the very least) takes as long as the NF mine animation. Make the BE one equally long and I'll be happy.
thtas not really a big problem... the biggest problem is that you cant minespam a group of enemies that are hiding behind crates on Escort/District...
well only the easy ninjas.. but it wont be possible to do the skillful ninjas it will take like 2 minutes to place 8 mines :eek:
I had a 1.07 match on isle yesterday, which I won by mining the enemy comm. I rushed up to it, pitsoled the guy repairing it, and started laying mines like crazy. Once I got 8 down, I backed away, getting ready to fire a rocket, when nebajoth stepped into the comm and set them off. If we had been playing 1.08, that game would not have been won then and there, because it takes too long to place them. Someone stated that in a future patch, the NF mine can be placed before the animation is finished, so theres nothing to complain about anymore.
If the animation takes about 4 seconds: 4 * 8 = 36 seconds, half a minute. If the comm isn't paying attention, long enough tbh
I'm happy for long animations provided that one mine CAN kill a tank, or seriously damage a heavy with good armour.
I think it would be a good idea if the mine animation "reloaded" the mine, so you could let it play, switch weapons, and it would still be ready to go.
wouldn't the mine explode in your pocket? I'm pretty sure this should be treated as pulling the pin out of a grenade and then putting it back in its holster
