New map close to testing

    I have made a new map, and I'm calling it emp cannon or emp_empcannon.

    basically, you have an island setting the brenodi have a base established and are developing a new weapon called the emp cannon.

    Having discovered this, the northern faction has taken a beachead on one side of the island. Their mission is to destroy this experimental weapon before it becomes operational.

    Brenodi must protect the emp cannon and their base, but they must also rid the island of the nf.

    I would like some suggestions, such as what could I do to improve the design...

    erm... the super secret cannon should probably have some form of defences. I certainly wouldn't stick my top secret project in the middle of a field :D

    Oh and also give the cannon a little more detail, looks a bit plain and weird at the moment. Maybe look at real life cannons and cross them with something you'd see in a starship troopers movie lol

    Apart from that it looks pretty good but the displacements are a little spikey. Maybe smooth those spikey areas out and vary the terrain a little with some cliffs and big drops etc :)

    yeah it looks good atm but maybe sort out a few of the hills and try to make them a little less jagged... but it looks like it could be pretty good... try yusing some of slashers models.

    looks good, except that arty will be able to fire from one base into the other :S

    so all the NF has to do is kill the big cannon, or is that just a prop?

    I think the defenders should get more res because they are doing a more difficult task.

    Interesting... well better than my map. I will love to try this out but what is stopping the NF from rushing BE?

    the map ends kinda abruptly, but a skybox will probably fix that.

    It needs to be larger, the map looks like arty could shoot from one side and reach the other. Also, make use of the 3d skybox & add water to the surrounding area.

    nice, nice. Still looks quite small though. And I'm not sure if that bridge would ever stay constructed for long :D

    :( I want to map so bad, but me have no time. :(

    Like everyone else has noticed, it really is a bit small... Can you thrown in an overhead shot so we can see the routes you've planned?

    Are you serious? the displacements are sharp... i have no clue how this will work in empires without everyone bombing the hell out of each other from the start...
    there is NO 3d skybox... so its just displacements and sky... Get a hold of realism my friend!

    ok, i did what some people asked. i made the map as big as i think is possible and i added a 3d skybox... why are there not any comments?

    We all DIED! No really a friend was over.
    The skybox water looks funky.
    The only problem is there is nothing to stop long range fire from anything.

    The land is good, but that wall is seriously fugly dude. Add some bracing or supports or something, just look at crossroads for inspiration.

    ok, I am not releasing this to other servers, but i would like to hear people's opinion on what needs to be improved. Im running a small dedicated server at
