Thought I might pop by. Just picked up the game yesterday, been enjoying it sence then and can hardly put it down! Anyway, I'm primarily an Engineer, mostly in the form of a medic though, but make an OK Commander. So.. I guess it kinda goes anyway, really. So, what's up people of the Empires?
Its always nice to have more commanders around. If you loose a game people will often blame the comm. But dont let it get to you, just keep training at the learning server.
I guess it needs to be said that I've been playing stratigy games all my life, and am a good Chess player. Plus, doesn't heart that I'm a people person. Mostly, I'm the guy that tries to salvage the campaign once the Commander rage-quits. Also, I'm still getting used to the interface, so... BLEH! Only thing that agitates me is the tech tree. I wish it was a bit easier to plan ahead with that thing.
Eh, I've always found.. What was it? Synonimus with Metalurgy, I think. Lead to getting the bigger chassis and such.
/me resists urge to show Xillian the ban hammer Welcome. Tip of the day: Stay away from HSM unless you have a defusal kit from CS:S.
ah.... now only if people realized thats the scout's job... people forgot that class is useful at all, in some/many games i played.
yes right, scout targets really are needed if you just can have the commander target everything for you ... btw the knowledge of strategy games, independend how good you are at those helps NOTHING in empires. commanding is all about experience, the knowledge of maps and your players. commaders only add 10% to a victory, but can add up to 100% to a loss. srsly, dont hop into the CV unless you have played at least for a month, tried it out on a private server and know why all the guys are yelling at you. other than that, welcome to empires
Hello, and welcome. Glad to see we have someone that doesn't leave immediately after he/she either.. A-Gets raged. B-Gets banned for unskillfully commanding. C-Gets raged s'more. Stick around long enough, get popular, etc. Have fun with the game, stay away from the Suggestions section of the forum if you want to preserve any mental santiy (or was that the black hole..?), etc.
I almost forgot to mention -- please stay away from suggestion anything that has to do with the scout, unless you've typed essays, drawn charts, and have much statistical value. Even then, be prepared for flame. Much, much, flame.
