I think the BE heavy tank looks somewhat crummy. Maybe it's the double barrels, or the shape of the turret... A new turret, a single cannon (like with NF) or a completely new design would be in place, I think. Ages ago, I mapped this in Hammer: Maybe something similiar? Or perhaps, seeing that BE's design is heavily inspired by German technology, you could make it resemble the Tiger: http://panzerkeil.dre.hu/harcjarm/panzer/tiger/Tiger-Panther.jpg http://www.aberjonapress.com/catalog/sh/images/tigertank.jpg ...or the King Tiger: http://www.modellismorossi.com/catalog/images/7004.jpg http://www.aberjonapress.com/catalog/sh/images/kingtiger.jpg
It'd better if you'd search for *MODERN* tanks not some tanks from WW2. I wouldn't change much in BE heavy tank. Armor plates of the turret should be under 45 degrees angle (like all moderns tanks ).
add a salvo launcher for anti air missiles like the mamoth tank in C&C * experiencing strange urge to play renegade
Considering that all modern tanks look almost the same and that NF uses tanks that resemble British WW1 tanks (80 years old) I don't think it's a problem with this game. Besides, those tank designs I showed in my first post could always be modified to look more modern when actually drawing concepts of, and modeling them. But anyways, many designs in Empires aren't something that is practical in the "modern" world. And the contrast between NF and BE technology looks/functionality could be made a bit smaller.
I _LOVE_ the be tank, with the exception of the BE MED, it's the best tank design in the game. it really rocks! please don't change it krenzo...
Yes, I like it's just a small glitch that uber super duper heavy tank has older design than med tank (armor plate angle).
Well, how about making the turret look like that of the King Tiger's? It has angled armor plates and it looks cool. The turrets could be just like in the real King Tiger except two next to each other, like the current tank. I'll draw a concept sometime...
agreed. it just looks POWERFUL. and what do you mean about it having a wide target area? that's part of the fun and enjoyment.
they only suggestion i have for the BE Heavy tank is to part the guns a little more so that there is more space inbetween them. i would also like to see the back of the turret extended a little further.
For me it seems like the Heavy tank looks older in design then the med tank... as an example, the med tank has a longer barrel, sloped armor (People didnt think that sloping armor would help... and only started to realize that when the allied shells bounced of german tanks) The BE heavy... seems to lack those features...
Heavy tank with König Tiger's turret. The base of the tank is supposed to be identical to the normal one.
Alright, how about this. Someone go and model a new pair of hvy tank CANNON BORES and show us how they would fit into the chassis.
Can you make it look more like my design? Remove the "cross" thing and make the barrels thicker + without that bump in the middle. Make the barrel/cannon attachment like in the drawing (two cylinders molt together that taper forwards) Also, the front of the turret should be a bit lower. There shoud be a slight, smooth "ramp" down from the middle and the front edge of the turret. It can be seen here: http://www.rcarmory.com/albums/album10/kt1.sized.jpg Also make the back of the turret a bit rounder, and the front (where the turrets are attached) a bit "flatter" (ie. a bit more non-sloped)
