Looks better and if we get back to the original grass which came with RC13, it is extremely easy to see the pattern of the grass on medium texture setting now because of those darker spots on it. Those are almost like darker squares on the grass when you go high enough.
It's looking good indeed, however i would like to see one thing happen: Have some maps use the current textures (light green/fresh look), and others your new wip (looks darker). Maybe since people don't seem to like the current textures from above, use your new ones in maps with large plains of grass (canyon). Still, i've been spectating in a few maps. I really like these textures from a top down view as well. I agree that the repeating pattern is rather noticeable, but for some reason i really don't mind. I just love the fresh look of the grass (i wouldn't be taking screenshots if i didn't ). Could you perhaps take a screenshot from your new textures from a certain heigth?
That looks better. You can still easily find the pattern there but now it doesn't jump up so well anymore. I just wonder how does that look in medium texture setting.
Personally i think i like the image in post #21 better (the grass part). But that's probably because of were it was taken, the angle, etc rather than the texture itself, since i can't see much difference. And what resolution are the cliff textures? I could really use some big, detailed ones Btw, please try not to overwrite a texture when you improve it. I'd rather have 5 textures that are good, and 1 final texture that is very good, than only the last version. Diversity is always good. A mixture of that more fresh green grass used now, together with a few of the darker ones you've showed us, would really improve the quality of a map if used wisely. Edit: corrected some sentences.
you should really give that parralax (?) mapping another shot... or if it really doesn't work make someone code it in :p
There's the large wrecked ship, a volumetric light model, lots of nature textures, a couple wooden stair props. The fisherman is also in it.
The fisherman should be running around isle, and if you can hit him with a concussion grenade, all your units get 100% health instantly, even if they were dead. why? Good question
I'm not a huge fan of the new grass detail texture, it looks freshly cut, like some senior citizens have gone over it 10 times with mowers.
What happened to the grass sprites like from emp_crossroads? Can't find the screenshot back, but I vividly remember this very lush landscape on emp_crossroads.
Krenzo took out most of the detail sprites, something to do with compilation errors if you have too many.
Yes. The engine can't handle too many of them. It complains about the amount of rocks which come with the texture and other things. It just can't handle that amount of stuff. Yes, I have tested and experienced it myself too.
