Currently I'm using a crap $10 wal-mart microphone that makes me sound like I'm 15. Can someone please recommend a microphone that would work best in empires? And don't wory money is not a problem. Though I would perfer it to be under $100.
i have a logitech one, and all i can say is... my next one wont be logitech. if saitek makes em, ill get one of those.
I use a logitech pc gaming headset. Works awesome. Sound is very crisp and the outbound sound is awesome. Heres the link to mine: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=103,CONTENTID=9523 Good luck. Thor
This is a pretty good question. I'm looking to replcae mine too. I've had 3 plantronics which lasted pretty long, but weren't very comfortable and now my eDimensional's microphone broke. I'd rather not buy another one of those again.
I tried that one and it's good, but the problem with it is it's not adjustable. So unless your head around the right size for it, it'll hurt to have on.
Yeah, it hurts since it doesnt completely fit, but only after 7+ hours of play or so. I just keep it around my neck and use my surround sound speakers and the mic most of the time.
Weird... I've used crap $10-$15 mics all my gaming life and have had no problems. I'd rather buy a $10 mic that will last a year, than a $50 one which I may accidentally break. I've sat on mics, ran my chair over the cords, hell, my dog has even eaten at least one... So, I'd rather buy a cheapo that I won't mind losing to an accident than an expensive one that offers little advantage. As long as its stereo and has an adjustable mic, I'm a happy camper.
The one I had for a while worked great, but it's from GE, oddly enough. Now the mic on it is broken and I need a new one but it lasted me for more than a year I think.
Ironic... Mine also happens to be a logitec. :D I can't stand it. Everyone says they can't hear me even when its on full volume in setup. And with the microphone boost set in both windows and steam. Personaly I don't care how much it costs. As long as I can get one thats crystal clear both ways. And doesn't make me sound like a muchkin from the land of OZ. (I have a Soundblaster X-Fi sound card so that won't be a problem) I'll look into the mentioned head sets. Not sure about that un-adjustable one, I have a big head. :D
well, everyone on TS says that its staticy for me, and i checked and i think that my mic is so sensitive that it picks up my computers fans, which are loud. my mic isss..... http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=103,CONTENTID=10011
I use the same ones, so far I've had no complaints that they can't hear me, in any game, but then again I always kinda raise my voice into the mic.
I've been looking at a pair of these or these, but I haven't decided if it warrants such a heft price tag. Then again they do have everything I want and more - Circumaureal - 3.5 mm connectors (I don't want any of that USB bs) - Mic And hopefully DURABLE. I'm sick and tired of my headsets breaking all the time because of crap wiring, soldering or just plain cheap materials.
Same here, havent had any problems with it. Kinda hard to understand other people using mic's but that might be the quality of thier mic and/or the software that came with thte headset to adjust to different situations (ie. Gaming, classical music, jazz, etc.)
3rd here. I also had a 4th one that was AE electric all crap >_< Get USB the USB ones are far more durable
The usb ones also have shitty sound quality http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7651784&type=product&id=1134699671497 i got that for my birthday, it's hueg like an xbox but it's really good. I would use it during scrims for CSS. However if you wear it for 6 hours, your neck gets really sore. Thankfully Empires games only last for 3 hours .
That is exactly what I have, they work great. The only thing is that they hurt your ears after wearing them for long periods of time.
