Yes, another megathread, but this time with a more interesting topic for (pretty much) all of us. Movies. Yab about how shit / sexy / awesome 2012 was, movie reviews of an awesome movie you just saw or how hot Edward Cullen is. (Because I know every thread derails with silly discussions, so all "silly discussions" are allowed.) Starting, I want to see a good paranormal / horror movie that isn't shit. (For once. I know there are some good movies out there.) I've seen The Ring (1), The Amityville Horror, White Noise (1), Paranormal Activity (1, was fucking shit, too!) and some weird ass movies I can't remember. Any suggestions?
Can I have some suggestions for bank robbery films, or jail escapes. I fucking love them. The whole "Giant plan" films.
According to Empty, this thread is named wrong. Megathread conveys that the original poster has a lot of content. well, the best horror movies are asian (although they've been going down hill these days since they re-use the same tricks)... lol you know whats the best/funniest/hilaries paranormal movie? ... "Qaurantine".. "Quarantine" is a remake of the spanish movie "Rec". "Quarantine" must be the most unintentionally hilarious scary movie. its shot in POV format, which is part of the reason why its so funny. This guy sums it up pretty well.. funny too Spoony - Quarantine
Bring em on! I remember I once saw this creepy horror movie where hair was killing innocent chicks. Yes, KILLING HAIR. Quarantine was kinda exiting because of the POV shot...but overall it was rather shit. I didn't bother wacthing Rec because...uh...I don't even remember why. Just didn't bother.
No. Seriously, just no. I am not letting this thread turn into an anime discussion. We are keeping this strictly to movies with proper actors in, no animation.
this thread sucks ass compared to mine. search before posting next time. darkness is a good horror film though also if you want robbery watch '3000 miles to graceland'
The film's box office receipts were poor. It opened at #3 at the North American box office making just $7,160,521 USD in its opening weekend behind Down to Earth and Hannibal. It later ultimately grossed just over $15 million domestically, well below its $62 million budget. The film also received largely negative reviews from critics and maintains a 13% "rotten" rating on the Rotten Tomatoes website. 3000 Miles to Graceland was also nominated for five 2001 Golden Raspberry Awards including Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Kevin Costner), Worst Supporting Actress (Courteney Cox), Worst Screenplay and Worst Screen Couple (Kurt Russell and either Costner or Cox) but failed to win any of those categories.
I watched (downloaded) Jonah Hex the other day, and it's such a massive pile of garbage I'm amazed no one stepped in and just told them not to even bother from the beginning.
so no Avatar, or Toy STory 3, or megamind? i didnt realize the original poster didnt want any "animation" in the thread and that off topic was allowed. =( Those disney movies were pretty awesome.. like Parent Trap and Zenon... or that lizzy mcquire halloween special
Avatar is CGI. CGI != Anime. Same for Toy Story. Hell, there were even - get this - REAL PEOPLE in Avatar. Holy crap batman!
True that. I'm not sure which ones I like more, the ones where they go over the plan and everything goes wrong, or the ones where you don't know the plan and it's all crazy interrelated.
the bank job http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bank_Job the best "plan" movie ever, + really happened but you likely have seen it already
The Great Escape - excellent movie. Great Train Robbery - also excellent. Escape from Alcatraz - (Eastwood - good movie, if showing it's age a little.) Shawshank Redemption - again, excellent. the Italian Job (the original with Michael Caine) Day of the Jackal Oceans 11 (the one with Sinatra, again good)
