More Gametypes

    My friend and I were having a discussion about the Empires mod and we agreed that Empires should have more variety in game modes. On HSM's server there is CTF mode which is pretty fun but we need more then that. Classic and Conquest is not enough, I think we need more fun game types.

    Maps would not become boring as quickly. Perhaps a gametype like King of the Hill where there would be a specific location and a team would try to hold that position for a certain amount of time and once a team gets that the area is moved to somewhere else.

    Le sigh. CTF is nachos, not HSM. Seriously, fucking play the game rather than sitting on the forums and making retarded suggestions, clan threads and retarded gif logos. It'll go a long way to actually being slightly successful in your endeavours.

    I had a couple of Ideas not really thought out too far but concepts atleast.

    1. being a ninja type map. The goal is for someone or a squad to sneak into a heavily defended area to destroy something(an unrepairable cv perhaps?) 1 concept would be "battle of the bulge" type setup with defenders in the middle and enemies coming from all sides.

    2. being an idea that popped into my mind when I read solo killers thread about limiting teams to certain droppable buildings. The idea would be a wider escort type setup where a pushing team only has apc's(maybe afv's also) and has to push thru a defending team with only barracks instead of flags. The pushing APC's would have to kill like say 3-4 barracks to get to the last one which would be near the CV.

    I really like the ninja map idea though because you get a real adrenaline rush when sneaking thru enemy territory.

    The ninja one sounds good but seems like something you'd need to organise to happen, not something that can be a coded game mode. Tell you what would be awesome, EMPIRES TTT! :D

    It would be cool to if the defenders had apc's that could spawn at random edges of the map to bring reinforcements and ammo into the middle of the map. So the attackers would have to try and kill the apc's to cut off the supplies to the dug in defenders..

    Yea sometimes I feel like playing empires in a sort of a battlefield sort of a sense, with supply trains and armies that have to outmanuver, flank, and scout each other out.
    But ofc, this wouldn't work with the average intelligence&obedience of an Empires Player.

    Map sizes won't ever be a problem in empires. It just the bigger they are the uglier they will get.

    Its not exactly game types that it needs, its the map layout, different layouts call for different games. The map that I quickly showed shows a WW1 style battlefield while something such as streets of fire calls for modern warfare.

    a map embracing trenches has been done.

    also, sof isn't as modern as much as it's urban.

    the issue isn't the map layouts. it's the primary overlying goal of killing the enemy CV which makes gameplay stale.

    Trickster, maybe I like to spend some time into making a GIF logo, maybe I want to start a cool clan, maybe I want to try to have a say in Empires. Why must you insist on calling me a failure? Your basically calling me an idiot.

    On a second thought, this is exactly why I'm starting my own clan. I want people who actually have some respect for others, you know Trickster, you could say, "It is my opinion that the current gametypes are sufficient for the Empires game and community."

    in other words: less forum talk/gifs/rule posting/etc and more action in the actual game you want to make a clan in.

    At early phases clans expand through ingame recruitment and social connections, not by posting a lot of stuff on forums.

    Make yourself known ingame, without doing so you will never prosper.

    Trickster may have used crude words, but he got a point. (a damn important one)

    It may not appear like it, but trickster (and epic) want more strong clans to rise, since scrimming is kinda dead atm.

    So yea... start playing/socializing more in empires if you wish for success.

    This thread almost reminds me of some famed Warhammer 40k missions. I believe some of them could be tailored to empires.

    Fore instance, Take and Hold uses 3 or 5 Objectives. Basically each team has to secure a number of objectives for a few minutes (I'd say 7), and if the objectives are still in their control when the timer expires they win. Objectives would work like flags in the current game, where they have to be contested before they can be converted over.

    Spearhead focuses on a defending and attacking force, with the defending force having more tickets but less resources, and the attackers starting out with more resources and less tickets. Ultimately there would be a timer that the attacking team has to complete their objective by (Get the CV to a certain location behind enemy lines, take out a key enemy structure that takes a lot of slogging through enemy defenses to get to, ect). Might seem a lot like escort, but there would be some slight differences.

    Ambush would be where one team has to defend a slow moving convoy or weapon being transported through a predetermined path, and the enemy team must destroy it before it leaves the battlefield or worse. The defenders would spawn from a location near the objective, or directly in it (APC style).
    A feasible scenario: A experimental Brenodi Artillery piece is being transported using the major highway of this sector. If it reaches its destination at the overlook, it would be able to wreak untold devastation on an NF HQ once protected by the geography that will now lead to it's demise.

    Just a couple ideas I had, if there's any problems/suggestiosn for them let me know =).

    I've always wanted to make a map where BE is on a train and NF has to take the train with like LTs ramming it and boarding it and shit and it would be so cash.

    Agreed, that would indeed make a fun map.

    NF - "PREPARE TO BOARD!"
    BE - "OH SHI- SPAM MORE LVL. 3 TURRETS ON THE ROOF!"

    Oh the possibilities. XD

    U mean the BE CV is ducttaped on the train and the train goes around the map in a big circle?

    you mean BE is on a blimb and NF has to use turbojeeps with ramps to jump into the blimb cabin and run over all the infantry
