Modified the NF assault rifle

    i looked into that once but i cant even figure out where to put it
    i mean technically it seems there isnt even a support for it codewise atm

    We have the model, we just don't have the animation, and when you think about the mortar itself, and how you hold it in first person, it's a tricky one to do, because let's be honest, how the fuck does the guy actually hold it? Between his legs?

    But I don't know what Firewarrior is on about, it should function using the same code as the RPG and any other weapons in the game, if we had an animation for it.

    This would be more labor-intensive (in terms of code, animation), but what if it was undeployed when the holder stood up (and held at the holder's side like a football o' doom or something), and only deployed when the holder crouched?

    hold it to the side with a handle at the top and bottom...like a battering ram i guess? ooh ooh how bout melee for mortar hits like a battering ram?

    hey remember how firewarrior fixed the be rifle's ironsights? is that gonna make it into the patch?

    just make the mortar a grenade launcher, and be done with it.

    The whole side thing, I thought about that, but we'd have to change the first person animation to match that. I believe the old first person animation from really really old versions, had the mortar at the side of you, but it isn't now.

    Plus, when you start offsetting things from centre, you get problems. Notice the RPG always goes to the right slightly? That's because it's coming from the right.

    We can't just add a model like that. But I always liked the idea of BE having an electronic based sight and NF sticking with ironsights or scopes. If a modeller ever did have the time to properly do stuff then that's the direction I assume we'd go in, as long as we could keep it fair. Let's be honest, if BE had a holosight like that and NF had their current sights, it'd be fairly imbalanced. But if it could be done fairly that'd be pretty badass.

    Show me source weapons that have ironsight animations and I'll port them to empires.

    Learn to rig vehicles and shit like that and become one of the most useful people we've had in the community for years.
