To make things more confusing, epic server wouldn't have this problem as the fastdl server is on the same box as the empires server so it wouldn't matter how you capitalised the map names. As a side note: I wonder if I matched the case with the filenames on all the .res files when I did the map pack? I only tested whether or not they download correctly on a windows environment. (snowbound wasn't in that map pack though)
Huh, that explains a few things, thanks for that info. I never had this problem except for HL2 games so I automaticly assumed it was like that.
Didn't even consider that the fastdl server would be *nix. That's a perfectly reasonable explanation.
that does make sense because my fast download server is Linux which I am pretty sure is case sensitive pertaining to file names
