Make it so tanks are hurt by their own weapons.

    While Empires has no friendly fire, infantry in Empires are still hurt by their own weapons, if they explode at close range. This discourages, say, grens from dropping explosive grenades at their feet.

    But tanks aren't. This encourages people (especially NF lights, but others, too, like Arty) to rush up and hump the enemy (or, in the case of Arty, drive under them), firing at absolutely point-blank range.

    These explosions should damage the firing tank. First of all, point-blank tank fights look and feel silly; and they're unintuitive. But more importantly, the game just doesn't handle close-range tank-battles well... the fact that Arty can sometimes manage to drive partway under enemy vehicles (which is certainly not intended), or that NF lights are often impossible to hit at close range are all signs of this. If tanks took damage from firing point-blank, this would be at least partially solved.

    Of course, it wouldn't help with weapons with no blast radius, but I still think this is a good thing to add. It fits in logically with the way infantry weapons work, and helps discourage point-blank tank combat at least a little bit.

    If necessary, even artificially increase the damage a bit from what it would be otherwise.

    yeh go take an APC and put some gren thingies on and shoot them at a wall so the nades explode near your tank ;)

    This was such a good suggestion the devs just implemented it without you noticing!
