Suggestion: A logistics vehicle which acts as a armory, aiming aid for artillery and a radar. Problem being Solved/Improved: You will have a moveable radar and/or armory, you will have a small radar and a armoury in one vehicle and wont have to build a big radar near the enemy base where your 600 ressources are in danger of just being wiped out and you will see the artillery being used more often. What this idea will bring to the game: This logistics vehicle will add to gameplay by giving more strategic options for the team that is using it by supplying info for artillery and units alike. Additional Details: A logistics vehicle would have x1.5 or x2 the radar radius of the engineers small radar, be capable of detecting infantery, vehicles, buildings and turrets and act as a armoury by supplying ammo and/or health to players that enter it. It would provide feedback for artillery to help it aim. When being attacked it could drive of to the main base and get repaird and be ready for service in no time. It could get a new research branch: "logistics" where more researchable features will be added as the mod grows.
I would only change the mechanical research tree: Old: Mechanical Engineering->Advanced Personnel Deployment (Cost:400 Time:60) New: Mechanical Engineering->Advanced APC (Cost:200 Time0) Mechanical Engineering->Personnel Deployment (Cost:200 Time0) Mechanical Engineering->Camera and Radar (Cost:400 Time:60) This could be the APC MKII.
this idea cries out "apc" out of all its pores i have seen it be suggested and i like it too i dont like the whole infantry random boost idea that was suggested before, the apc heals reloads and spawns thats more then enough in my opinion but i do like the radar and the logistic support to vehicles for example we could cut tank ammo capacity to half or something and have the apc be the support vehicle that has to be escorted or stay behind the front for infantry and tank support
This will be added only if BluePhoenix drives it every single match and sits next to his teammates doing nothing (In other words, the ideas are interesting but the implementation will be boring as fuck)
A dedicated vehicle for ammunition supply for other vehicles sounds like a good idea to me. However, I think that this should be based on the APC as well. Or, at least on a vehicle which is more like an actual APC, because the current in-game vehicles behave more like IFVs.
You could simply park the vehicle somewhere and do something more constructive. Another benefit of a vehicle-based support is that we can resolve the problem of Engineers supplying their own vehicle ammunition by making the ammo boxes unable to supply vehicle ammunition.
It would be cool but only if someone other then me has to keep track of it. Also targets + ammo box = that vehicle. Maybe it could repair tanks with a big claw thing or mount an MG or something? Those would give the driver something to do.
I suspect it would be used the way APCs often are now -- infantry would buy it, drive it to someplace important / useful, and park it, maybe dropping a few walls to protect it. This seems useful to me. But I think it could just be a set of APC upgrades, rather than a separate vehicle (mainly, if you want it to be a separate vehicle, are you offering to model it?) Also, if it has an MG like an APC, I could see it being useful for actually driving near the frontline, especially if your other tanks aren't armed with good anti-infantry weapons. It would be nice if we could actually encourage vehicles to take on different roles and cover each other (the anti-infantry APC defending the tanks from suicide riflemen or gren RPG snipers or whatever), rather than everyone just rushing your best tank in a mindless zerg wave like we often get now.
