That doesn't mean the reasoning behind my argument is flawed. That just means that the anime fans have different objectives than simply sharing their favorite material with other fans. On the other hand, your argument is flawed based on its premise; what gives you the idea that they will get a "myriad of opinions" here as opposed to an anime forum? At most, there are only a dozen or so anime fans (ranging from casual watchers to weeaboo sickos) on this forums. There is no indication that even a casual watcher would not post in an anime forums. Furthermore, if a casual watcher on this forums REALLY wanted to get different opinions on anime, he/she would simply register on an anime forums. How about making an general-purpose forums so people can talk about Empires, anime, etc.? There are already forums out there for that. This is the official Empires mod forums; there is no reason to cater to the anime fans in this community.
I said in my previous reply that I personally wouldn't mind anime-related threads in the off-topic section. I was responding to the idea of an anime section added to the forums. If you are talking about dividing off-topic section to include an anime sub-section, then the question would be why is this particular subject special? There are other possible, popular off-topic topics such as games, cars, news/politics, etc.. This goes back to the idea of making a general-purpose forum. Shouldn't all non-Empires related topics on the official Empires mod forums be treated as is?
Intelligent conversation aren't possible on these forums it would seem. Thus, no off topic threads that aren't semi serious are allowed. Shit just becomes troll bait for both ends of the love / hate spectrum.
