get 3dsmax, maya or xsi and learn how it works, takes usually one week with nice tutorials that you can find by a simple google search. The more important thing is to get a general understanding how game modeling works and works best. Like making the general shape pretty simple so you can hide most detail in a bumpman etc. But basically after 2 weeks of deticated learning you can model for every game exept bioorganic models, that forces you to learn mudbox or zbrush, which takes another week
Well I can get started when I get home. PwnedYoAss linked me a 1.72Gb video tutorial (ew) package...though I prefer learning by text.
Obviously the community is very supportive of people who want to donate their free time towards a free game, Delete_. Omneh; I'm sorry. I've only had the program for a total of 5 seconds, sorry if I couldn't model you some gay porn.
If I post a pic of me in VS2008 then will people think I'm some leet programmer? Or if I post a picture of me in linux then I will be a hacker!
I just posted it so maybe people would think I was a bit more serious than just, "Hurr..I'll think about it," ....

Nothing special...just played around with moving points on a polygonial model. I'll figure out curves tomorrow.
Curves? There are no curves, computers can't do curves. Unless you mean splines/animation curves but neither of those are needed for modelling for games.
