The balance patch has already been taken care of, it'll be included in the next version. If that version takes too long, it could just be released, but that's not up to me to decide.
plz to be balancing, i've seriously considered unresearching BE hvy's, rails and nukes from the MAD server entirely just to make it more balanced without doing custom scripts...
I thought everyone knew this by now, nukes are bugged. We'd have to change its properties (high heat) to circumvent the bug and have it "balanced."
i dont have a prob with nukes at all, but if i'm going to eliminate the uber-whoring be dual rail heavy then i have to at least take away nukes from nf's arsenal.
NF meds can? edit: nevermind I had to read two posts up you want to remove BE heavies entirely. So NF can have LT advantage early game and late game advantage with heavies. AWESOME PLAN!!!!!!
a BE medium with the right get-up can go toe to toe with nf hvy's i've seen it done on plenty of occasion and the cost margin makes up for any slight nf advantage in 1on1 battles.
TBH, i would rather have all empires games be a rush for nukes just like in the good ol' days (pre 1.07) instead of this dual rail faggotry. Just ban rails and the game will suddenly be equal. BE can punish bases with dual HE.
Maybe just remove half of the game and balance it because it is easier to do? No, I have a better idea we should remove 99% and balance after that.
About the dual rail thing, it gets kinda old, but wouldn't the following please all you railhaters and raillovers (if there are any): Instead of 1 railgun research, make 2 railgun researches. 1 for BE, 1 for NF. Yes, this may not be the smoothest solution but it works since Railguns are the only 3 slot cannon there is at the moment. The NF one can be like the rails are now. A useful fast shooting, good hitting cannon that is worth its price. (maybe a tad less expensive) The BE one would be geared towards using in pairs. Bit lighter, bit less accurate, less damaging overall, less heat to target. 2x BE rail don't have to be equal to 1 x NF Rails, BE rails can still be better but not by a plain 2x margin.
Even assuming what you say is true. Which it is not, a NF heavy tanker of equal skill is going to beat a BE med tanker of equal skill. But anyways, you are ignoring the huge advantage NF heavies have against buildings.
The correct way to do things is to balance them as far as possible as soon as they get added in. That's what I did with E: Au and worked well.
Can I whore my mod out now? I balanced the weapons/armors/engine. One more hour and it could be perfect! Real question. Is there any plans at all for a balancing patch?
