I do wonder what that would do to things like official language, education, etc. At least we'd have a government that works for a change, unless they're stupid enough to leave the current one in charge.

I can't recall any particular economic highlight in Greece in the last 2000 years no. That said my interest in history only covers ancient egypt, ancient greece, ancient rome and the middle ages. I know absolutely nothing about what went on in between.
Let Turkey finally rape Greece, they cook the same foods and play the same damn clarinets so nothing will be different except that they will be Muslim, but that isn't a problem, cause Turkey doesn't bullshit anyway.
