You don't need stat software at all, but you do need the dedication.

We have quite fundamental problems with clan wars atm.

Empires takes some time to load. It depends on computer and details. One player can join at 1st minute the other may join 5 minutes later. What now? escort would need to be restarted or something. Probably the same with other maps (early joiners could take more territory faster).

Time. 2 x one map is a few hours match. That's quite long.

People. We need at least 10 vs 10. That requires quite good server.

How about the game doesnt "start" until both sides have players, something like NS did but short a ready room, so one guy cant build a huge fortress of leet while the other one doesnt even have a res tower...

So a 5 second count down after each side gets a player and the round starts... this would prevent so many things : one of them being the 2343001123 res counts on servers that havent been played on since the map swiched...

I have been working on a scrimbot that organises matches for pub servers.

i stopped working on it becuase i thought the demand probably wasnt there yet.

Its basically a big mirc script and it would need the most basic of crappy servers to run it.

it organises teams and sets up a vote for the map in a main channel, then invites people to dedicated team chans, gives them a short while to talk tactics then gives them all an ip to connect to.

but what i really want is a bot that can control the servers in its list. thats a little while away tho.

im also not sure about the specifics of how it organises matches.

    ideas plz.

odd I didnt notice your post Jimather.
That would be very cool :)

One way for a scrimbot to work would be an admin activating it or people voting for activation by typing something like !vote scrim

then people could join team a or b, or they could all just go into the pool of people that want a scrim and when there are enough people, 2 of them get randomly selected and they are allowed to pick their teammates out of everyone available per turn.

Then the bots would invite everyone in that team to their private channel, when both teams are ready after discussing strategy, the team leader (that picked out everyone) types !ready and when both teams are ready they will be given the ip and password to join.

    Hope this answers your question
