I'll be able to get a bunch in. Give me some a time when I can get some peeps on 1900x1200 res with 8x AA and 16 anistropic, bitches
if the community map pack can be used for that I would suggest some shots of the revised slaughter and some old 2.12 slaughter screenshots side by side
I can run 16 with like no loss of FPS, I just chose 8X because I can't tell the difference at that high of a resolution. But I do run at mat_picmic -10 with 60+ FPS
If there was any diference mebbe it wud matter? new tanks?? new weapons, not so wats new to showcase, meh thinks people are gonna be very disapointed with 2.2... Just one new weapon or vehicle wud a bin cool............................
mat_picmip -10 doesn't do anything. Only thing it did was that it somehow changed the shadows, but that's it again. Here, for comparision. First one is with mat_picmip -1, second with mat_picmip -10. I run everything on the highest possible settings + drivers set to quality btw.
You'll notice the difference once you move further away from the textures. Also, don't forget r_lod -5
Well...I have to kinda agree with this. I appreciate that a lot of hard work went into 2.2, but by your (the dev team's) own admission, this is pretty much a straight OB port with some balance tweaking. Hell, we all know the good stuff is coming in 2.3, and that's when you'll want to advertise the monkeys out of the mod... It's been 8 months, and I appreciate that we might want some advertisement, but we're actually doing pretty well...more people are coming to the mod all the time, and more people are staying and getting involved...really, will pushing 2.2 have any affect?
Actually some things have improved visually as well that should be visible in screenshots and could attract at least some more players. The models look a lot better in the OB engine for some reason i don't understand, this is very noticable with the buildings and weapons. Particle effects have been improved as well. Also water in maps like for example in duststorm looks a lot better now (has the duststorm minimap been updated?). But sure enough, the main focus should be the complete overhaul of the weapons system. But apart from a screenshot showing the BECAR's name in the menu not much can be done with that. The move to OB itself won't mean much to the average player, especially since it hasn't led to increasing max players to 64. The list of changes may not include big stuff like adding airplanes or new tanks etc, but it's not a small list either. Perhaps advertising shouldn't be taken too far or too serious with this release, but showing (new) screenshots in news sites together with a changelog will at least put empires in the lights again and show everyone that work on empires is far from done.
no emp_money screenshots, cause it looks so bad. BTW, remember ages ago someone did a reskin for the NF heavy and made it looks even better, will that be in 2.2?
I think streets of fire would be a nice one just to show the city side. Just have to find a nice place to take a picture on it somewhere in the middle. Make pics of different types of maps so people see the different styles in the game :]]
you could also make smal vids like these, although my quality is crap there getting hits and good comments, more press for empires... anyone mek any higher quality stuff? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=aG5xMAXOdbY http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dK150oOI3T4 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=upAMoDwAGD4 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_SF-UJG3_8M http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_SF-UJG3_8M http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=1ncgCnS1SPs http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ-Qc7f3G9g 11,000 views cant be all bad, cmon guys...
I was going to do that quite a while ago, but I kept getting problems with OB compiles, and I haven't searched out the solution yet. Maybe I'll do that right now... *clicks search button*
